Stalberg Toews Sharp (Stalberg is key in his contact year)
Carcillo Kane Hossa (this line was pretty good before Carcillo got hurt)
Bickell Bolland Shaw/Frolik (this line was good pretty good in the playoffs)
Frolik Kruger Smith (you can move many grinders from Rockford to round this line out)
Mayers is a clubhouse guy he will play maybe half the time
I have a feeling Montador might play some forward

Keith Seabrook
Oduya Rosival
Hjalmarsson Leddy(neither can play more than 17 minutes a game but this is a better bottom pair then 2010)
Extra-Brookbank

I think our D on paper is very close or possible better then 2010. I also think we need all our D-men with a shortened condensed schedule.

Others-
Saad needs more time in the Rockford.
Morin might be closer to the NHL then Saad. Very streaky.
Bollig will be called up for some games. Also, we can use him on the PK.
They need to see what Beach can do in the NHL cause his contact is up after this year.
Hayes seemed to regress in the AHL.
I would also be interested to see what Pardise, Flick and Pirri can provide.
Stan has a ton of roster options and tradeable parts at the trade deadline. Big year for him as well...
I think Bollig is in from the start. Q likes having some toughness out there. Carcillo can't handle the bigger guys.

I think people underestimate how important having Carcillo back is. It was 2 different teams last year from before when he was out and then after.

Jason Arnott is old, but I feel like he could take that 3rd line center spot and let Bolland slide up to the #2 position and be more of a scorer. Or perhaps he could man the #4 role and be a grinder type.

I'm not totally familiar with the new cap rules, but can we add any players without sending salary out?

Andrew Brunette didn't work out as well as I (and some others) thought. I don't want Arnott. We need to get proactive in the trade market. I feel as though we have a couple prospects that could be expendable.

Yeah, we have significant cap room. If guys are going to be on the move, they should be coming here. Wake up Lil' Bow Bow, time to do something.

And even more than bringing guys in, we should make a decision on Stalberg before Game 1. Sign him to a reasonable extension, use him as a trade chip or bulk up the spending to near the cap limit and just let him play out his cheap year with us. Those are the three options. Keeping the team cap low and letting him play out the year would be a horrible option. He has inflated value with his contract, use it.

So apparently Keith is driving back from BC. 9 hours into a 33 hour trip. Holy ****...

Yeah, there's something about Canadians that they love to drive long distances. They are conditioned to it as well (travel hockey), but they just have the traveling bone that most of us south of the boarder don't have.

Agree about Stalberg. Letting him play out ther year and then walk is about the worst possible option. Personally I'd like to see him on a nice 3 year deal, maybe for what Frolik is making now.

Especially when it comes to cutting straight through Montana and North Dakota. God does that have to be boring

I guess he is doing a 33-hour drive since he is bringing a lot of personal items, including his dogs. It's like he's moving.

Driving that distance with dogs sounds even worse.

You don't let a moving company handle your dogs. You also don't fly with them. That means at least one person has to bite the bullet and make the drive. Guess he's a nice guy to do the drive with her. Maybe she's nice to him.

I know you can, but it is a major pain in the ass and not the safest option.

As much as I've said I would be reluctant to buy tickets and merchandise, going to the first home game back and being there for the anthem and the crowd going nuts when they come out to Stranglehold would be downright filthy.
