I'd be okay with this.

Doubt hawks fans would though

It would definitely be a bit of a gamble given how early both of these player's careers are. Read will probably regress, although I do like him and Leddy has shown flashes that are sure to become more and more consistent given time to develop. Seems about equal value, but it would definitely be a gamble as either player could stagnant, regress or explode.

No thanks. Leddy is 5 years younger and clearly, IMO, has a much higher upside than Matt Read.

If we could work something around Leddy for Schenn, that'd be better.

no chance to get Schenn

no to this deal. Nothing against Read but Leddy is younger and his ceiling and upside looks better.

Leddy looked pretty brutal last Saturday, he's not going to get you Read on his own, Philly passes.

21 tear old 37 point Defenseman who is improving defensively is pretty darn good value for 26(?) Read who finally broke out

I can see the Flyers moving Read, but not until next summer (last year before he's a UFA). He's on a cheap contract now and produces, so they should hold onto him for at least this season

For Briere, I'd do it.

Nick Leddy has been very average this year in the AHL and at times has looked quite bad.

I like Read a lot, however I admit the Flyers could use a guy like Leddy. I think I'd hold onto Read this year.

Looks like a solid deal, imo. Valuewise it's skewed towards Philly, but the Hawks get a serviceable 2C and the Flyers a young PMD. If the Flyers added a pick/prospect/low tier defenseman it could work out.

He's only 21, and got almost 40 pts last year. I think its safe to say he has potential. Takes time for kids that young to adjust to a new team and system.

Ugh. Torn on this. Probably means It's fair. But I LOVE Read's game.

Read didn't "finally break out." This was his first year in the NHL because he played his full four years in college and was never drafted. That said, I doubt the Blackhawks would trade Leddy for Read, and there's no chance in hell the Flyers would entertain moving Schenn in a deal for Leddy.

Would rather keep Leddy, though I do like Read.

Read + and I would think about it. But not straight up.

Maybe the + = Wellwood or a 2nd?

Not sold on Read as longterm #2 C option honestly

He is awful at faceoffs and that is why he is longterm a W in NHL
