Suter vs Pietrangelo

Which player is better right now?

(Do not take age, salary, team needs etc into account).

Good poll. I'll go with Pietrangelo but it's really close. Probably my #2 and #3 picks for best D in the league.

Went with Petro but they are both top 5 defensemen IMO

I'm interested to see how Suter plays without one of the best D partners in the league.

I'll give it to Pietro solely because Suter has played with a better partner but in all honesty it's too close to call.

I'll take Peitragelo. Even right down the line until you get to their shot. That's a big advantage for Peaches who has one of the best point shots in the league.

But that's just one aspect, so it speaks to how close this is.

This is very close one. Voted Pie because there was no option for tie, could have went with that too.

Pietrangelo. Crazy to think about how good he is, and then realize he's only 22.

So you're leaving off one all but one of Weber, Chara, Karlsson, Doughty to put Suter(??) at #2 or 3??? Suter would be somewhere in the 5-10 range.

It was. I think Weber gets overrated, and we'll see Suter leaving impact him more than the other way around. Still top 5 though.

One of them was on the top pairing with a two-time Norris candidate with a two-time Vezina candidate in net.

One of them played on a top pairing with Carlo Coliacovo, with Halak and Elliott in net, and the team ended up with one of the lowest goals-against averages in history.

Suter is great but I just can't get over how good the Blues defence was last year, and A-Pie was the #1 defenceman on that team.

Shows Suter without Weber, and Weber without Suter. Weber was MUCH better without Suter than Suter was without Weber in all 4 of those categories.

I'll take Pietrangelo because his game is still progressing and has a bomb from the point which Suter doesn't really have.

Oh, some stats based on the minimal time that they weren't D-partners. Thanks.

I'm also one of those people that doesn't think Moulson is better than Iginla because he had more points.

Pietrangelo. Not sure how good Suter is going to be compared to his last couple with Weber, while Pietrangelo was #4 in Norris voting, with Suter (partnered with Weber) being 8th.

Of course, this probably won't sway your opinion at all because you're one of those people.

And I'm someone who likes apples and hates oranges, but fair enough, by all Nashville accounts Suter didn't have the best year so.

I went with Suter. Because the poll said, right now. I think Suter is a touch better at this current moment. But will be interesting to see how he is this year.

I do think Pietrangelo will be the better player.

If I had to pick who I want... it would be Pietrangelo, easily
