Wild to obtain a Dman?

The long night is over. let the hypothetical trade speculation commence!

Russo thinks that the Wild will have to get a defenseman since Scandella and Brodin are hurt. Who do people think the Wild are going to get? Some placeholder chump? A legit piece for the future?

Along that line, do the lockout buyout players get buyout now? Or does that wait until next offseason? Are there any potentially bought out players that could interest the Wild?

Ossi Väänänen is a free agent, 6'4" D-man with previous NHL experience. He'd be a solid pick-up I feel, if he wants to leave Jokerit.

Believe Russo said they will be at 50 contracts once Palmieri is signed. That means the defenseman will have to be had via trade.

I think he should be given a chance. He looked good in some games last year and he plays with good grit. His problem is that he tries too much, but once he finds his game, he could be a good one.

This. Can we use an amnesty buyout on AHL contracts should we decide to buyout someone in Houston? Prosser is on a one way NHL contract so I see no reason why he couldn't be bought out.

If the Wild traded for a defenseman who would they target? I've been away from the NHL because of the lockout and off season too long to even know who is trade bait.

I don't like the idea of GMCF rushing into a trade just to fill a the hole left by Scandella/Brodin.

Agreed. I'd like to see this team actually on the ice before any trades are made. Somehow they score at a lower clip per game than last year LOL.

I really wish I could find the one where Terhaar just faded out with mumbling. I've never heard anyone do anything like it. It was absolutely hilarious. It was like he just got completely distracted and almost fell asleep in the middle of the play.

BTW; it would be absolutely dumb to use up a contract buyout on Processor then see what happens.

Just trade Prosser for a pick to clear the contract chart.

I'd rather have 49/50 contracts than 50/50 unless they decide to sign someone.
