Speaking of Glennie, I try to check his stats just every once in a while to see how things are going for him. Apparently not so good...19GP 2 goals 5 points. Wow

Nilstorp just did the splits .... 1st game back from the groin injury .... and he sure didn't look like it felt good. Took his time getting up.

Texas offense is picking apart Karlsson. They're up 4-1, and in the middle of a major PP rigt now.

I thought I might have been crazy about Nilstrop getting up awkwardly because Newkirk said he looked fine, but the official twitter noticed it too:

Cris Nilstorp shakes the leg out after making a big move to keep the puck out of the net. #TxStars

Fraser needs to hurry up and pass Eberle for the goal scoring lead.

Oh yeah ... forgot to mention that.

Fraser's goal extended his point streak to 11 games which breaks the record he set last year in that category.

That's 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points in the 11 games. He has 2 goals and 2 assists in the last 1 and 2/3 games.

I'm surprised he's even played 19games tbh.

Fraser is NHL ready.

Campbell replacing Nihlstorp after letting in the tieing goal. Might be injury related?

At what point does Fraser get a legitimate shot in the NHL? I'm a Reilly Smith fan but Fraser has paid his dues, not token AHL "seasoning" dues either. With Whitney out for a while Fraser not getting a legitimate string of games in the NHL with Benn or Roy would be a huge mistake.

Ice Hogs seem really bad at the shootout... Most of the shooters seem like they've just lost the puck before they get a chance to shoot

Is this the first loss this season for them when carrying a lead into the 3rd?

How has Jack Campbell looked this year?

I believe this is a case of a guy who will be a better NHL goalie than junior goalie. Never really impressed at all in the OHL with Windsor and the Soo.

Would love to hear some opinions on him from people who have seen him regularly in the AHL.

Even though Morrow didn't look bad last night, I think Fraser has a place along with Reilly Smith in the Top 9. If Gully keeps Eakin at third line center, and he doesn't get cold feet when trying to spread the scoring like he did last game when he moved Ryder back to the 2nd line, there are enough spots for 2 rookies and Vincour in the Top 9 with Whitney out.

Fraser/Smith-Benn-Jagr
Eriksson-Roy-Smith/Vincour
Fraser/Smith/Vincour-Eakin-Ryder
Morrow-Fiddler-Nystrom

They're already playing 3 young forwards most nights. I'm not going to be upset if Smith goes down in place of Fraser, but I do believe it's a mistake. Expecting these guys produce immediately is silly. Smith looks right now just like he did early in the season in the AHL. He's got to get comfortable with jump up. The same is true of Fraser. He'll likely have an adjustment period to the NHL. Not being patient and allowing it to happen is just delaying the inevitable.

Eriksson didn't become who he is today until they stopped dicking him around, up and down the lineup, up and down from the AHL.

He's gotten better as the season has gone along. He's cut down on the amount of soft goals. He's still the clear #2 behind either Nilstorp or Bachman, but that's more just because those guys are quite good and it's the priority for the organization to make sure they're ready to step in at the NHL level. He's gotten the opportunity to play more consistently lately which is nice.

Texas Stars in Canada this weekend with a B2B against Hamilton and Toronto. Earlier in the year, I would have expected to Nilstorp to play both, but I imagine we'll see both goalies this weekend.

Schedule really worked out well this week. These 2 games fall during a 3 day break for the Dallas Stars.

Who had the bright idea of putting Roussel and Tousignant on the same line?

That can't end well ...

EDIT: Petersen is centering .... the 4th line.

He was on Dallas' 4th line a year ago.

Sneep and Sloan are on the ice every other shift it seems. Sneep looks quick out there on the 4 on 4, and he was crashing the net after making a nice pass.

Dowling is a pretty neat story. He's worked his way firmly into Texas' Top 6, and he looks like he belongs.

I didn't notice this until a few minutes ago, but Morin is out again. He returned from injury .. I thought last game .. but I guess he's hurt again. Sceviour is centering the top line, and Austin Smith is getting a big opportunity to play with Sceviour and Fraser.

How bad has it gotten for Petersen? He started the year as the 3rd center behind Eakin and Morin. Eakin is in the NHL, and Morin is hurt. Texas decided Sceviour, Dowling, and Roussel were better options in the Top 9 over Petersen.

Zach Stortini is on Hamilton's PP ... I wonder why they are less that 10% and the worst in the league.

Campbell just made a huge save to keep it 1-0. PP was expiring, and the Bulldog rec'd a pass that put him on a breakaway against Jack.

That was a pretty epic save.
