That's weak. Might as well just not do anything then.
If you want to send a message don't go to the games. Just watch at a bar and support those guys.
That is totally unrealistic though. Those who do not buy ticket will just be replaced by those who usually can't get tickets. And frankly, hockey is back, if I get the chance to go, I'm gonna wanna go. Going to NHL games is not a realistic option for everyone - personally I've never been to a regular season game. I wouldn't pass up that chance!
I suggested a minute because it'd just be hard to organize

check out this swedish soccer game.
pretty powerful stuff.
I actually like that idea. Anyone who boycotts is kidding themselves. If they do, they're not really a fan. This moment of silence thing though, i really like. Imagine everyone being silent for the first 10 minutes of every teams home games
In hockey, unlike soccer, there are actually goals, and stuff that happens, so it would be tough to remain silent when the home team scores though.
I talk to people regulary in Edmonton who yell "Im going to boycott those ********! I wont watch hockey! Arghhh!"...I can not understand this logic. Yes the lockout sucked, and we all have the right to be angry. I was angry. I am still a little miffed. But depriving yourself of what you wanted all along to make a "point" in a market that is foaming at the mouth for NHL hockey is a useless endevour. Not watching a game wont do jack ****. Not buying a ticket just means someone else will buy it. Morons.
EDIT: I can understand not buying merchandise, but choosing to not watch in your home even if you wanted to is ridiculous.

I can't help but shake my head at comments like that. I've been watching the NHL for well over 40 years, played the game both competitively and for fun for the same amount of time but because I choose to not have those spoiled richboys laugh at me in my face, I'm not really a fan? You cannot be more wrong, buddy! Go and let them laugh at you and take you for granted... real fan!

And anyone that just willingly keeps giving money to the same people that cost them a season and a half of hockey the past decade has no self-respect for the sport.
No...I told myself I would but screw it. I find myself getting anxious at random times in the day just waiting for the season opener. I could try to stick it to them and watch on a stream but I've missed hockey so much that I need to get every detail on my LED HD TV. I don't care if the Ducks lose every game, I missed hockey.
I'll take a sadistic pleasure in knowing that some of the more passive fans won't be tuning in. Also I'm still not buying merch until next season. Or buying Center Ice.
Nope. In fact im going to spend 5-10 times what I normally spend just to make up for for people who "say" they will boycott even though the majority of them don't spend a dime anyways.
I really dont understand why someone would boycott. Its no different then your favorite TV show going on an extra long break in between seasons. It just makes it that much better when it comes back on the air. Trust me, hockey is my favorite TV show.
