For that price, no real risk. I'm betting he ends up healthy scratched often. Would have rather gone for a player with a more clear role on the team and higher upside (Sykora, Moore, Langkow) on a short term deal, but whatever. Also would have preferred a camp tryout to a straight up signing, but I can live with $600k.
“I had Lasik eye surgery yesterday so my vision’s a little off,” Green told reporters after the practice. “I didn’t realize he was that close to me. I apologize though.”
i am not sure i see your logic. you say the caps need to quick cohesion and to get those new pieces and new coach on the same page. you then say that if they struggle with that the solution will be more big changes. those two things are in conflict with each other.
if they struggle with the changes, they need more cohesion and more stability, not less.
if they are in danger of missing the playoffs, GMGM will not stand pat. If at the deadline this team is out of the top 8, I can see a big trade. Core pieces moving out vs others coming in.
If they are in the top 8, then I only see them adding a few small pieces....typical George moves.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Injured Brooks Laich likely to miss 1st week or two for WSH so Wojtek Wolski or Eric Fehr could fill in on 2nd line LW with Ribeiro-Brouwer.

That's interesting. I wonder where he got the idea Brouwer is on the 2nd line.
On who he has with Ovi and Backstrom:

@Mrduckpins MJ90.
Mike Vogel @VogsCaps
He is still injured, yes, so not on camp roster. @khudon: What NO Orlov for Training Camp? Is he still injured?
Orlov still injured.
Mike Vogel @VogsCaps
#Caps camp roster has just 25 players right now, 26 with Fehr. Few cuts needed.

my usual spin job? i am laughing that they signed him. who says i was wrong that signing him is a waste of time? they are going to give him a shot. its free...or almost. if he sticks and does something with it, then i am wrong. if they sign him and nothing comes of it, was i wrong?
That's the exact spin job I figured was coming. I thought your premise was that there was no way they were signing him because of work ethic problems. They gave him a full blown contract. Hence, you were wrong.
He could very well blow out a shoulder tomorrow but that wouldn't make you any less wrong.
Poti to Hershey on a conditioning assignment. The Bears have three games before next Saturday (this evening, Wed., & Fri.). He still takes up a roster spot while he's on that assignment IINM, though I haven't paged through the MOU yet for changes.

go back and read what i wrote. i never said there was no way. i said i didnt want him. i said, "i pass".
if you are going to make accusations, quote me correctly.
ok...your turn. are you suggesting that fehr is going to be a success? if yes, what production makes him a success?

Wilson back to Plymouth, Schilling back to Hershey & Laich on IR gets them down to 23, at least temporarily.
there is no IR til the season starts and roster limits commence. my guess is that poti starts on ir as well. i thought i heard mcphee say he was going to send poti to hershey for a rehab assignment.
