I would try to get Gormley or Edler. It may cost more, but I think the upside is higher.
Edler/Karlsson
Methot/Gonchar
Phillips/Wiercioch
Lundin
or
Methot/Karlsson
Gormley/Gonchar
Phillips/Wiercioch
Lundin
With Edler you have a solid partner for Karlsson for years to come.
With Gormley you have someone to partner with Gonchar now, he did well partnering with a rookie Cowen and down the road it could look like this
Cowen/Karlsson
Gormley/Ceci
Wiercioch/Wikstrand

Note: Zibanejad's value is close to an all time low right now. maybe it was lower when no one had ever heard of him.

Lol @ you guys undermining Zibanejad's value.
As for Robidas. Murray has been trying to get him for a while now. I remember a couple years ago during the deadline they went after him hard and there were rumors like crazy for a good couple months. I think that was the year we settled for Sutton instead.

Did Mark Eaton get a contract in Europe? If not I'd just sign him and go with what we have on D. Our goaltending can cover up the blemishes on D. Methot, Karlsson, Phillips, Gonchar should serve as a top 4. Use some combo of Wiercioch, Eaton, and Benoit for the bottom pairing until Lundin returns. Either way, Karlsson and Methot are going to be seeing huge minutes this year.
BTW, do we know roughly how long Lundin is out for?

Meh. Much rather sign Edler in the offseason without giving up assets.
This is year 3 of the three year rebuild. Not interested in giving up assets when we aren't quite a cup contender yet.

Ouch. I'm guessing it'll take Phillips about that time to get into game shape as well. Bet the over in the early season.

If Lundin was signed to be the #6 guy than that's likely what role he will take when he is healthy. Until than Benoit will be a very serviceable option.

Don't think we'll recall Benoit. I think Wiercioch will get rewarded for his strong play and be our fill in.

Fill IN? We need at least 2 more dmen, most likely three. Karlsson, Methot, Gonchar, Phillips, Weircioch, Benoit and Boro. Murray will make a deal.

Probably he was talking about that the other day but he also said that he thought there were around 8 players in bingo that are potentially NHL ready.
It'll be interesting to see what happens.

That would be nice, but a guy who has ZERO experience at the NHL level may not be the best option...

Since you're on a first name/nickname basis with him, you should know the answer to your own question, bruva.

Like someone else said the teams I would look at is Phoenix and SJ, we seem to have a good trade relationship with them.
For SJ I would look at Boyle, Murray and maybe just maybe one of Demers or Vlasic
For Phoenix look at Gormley, Yandle and Stone.

I agree, but for some reason the team has never shown that much faith in him. He had quite the step back with that injury last year. But he looks to have regained some of the pedigree he has before. I'd be all for giving him 5-10 games to see what he can do.

Yandle or Gormley? You got any clue what that would cost? Zibby, Stone or Noesen plus more.
Boyle would be a great addition, hometown vet who can still put up 40 points. Would love to see him here. What would the cost be there?

I don't think we need a D that can put up points. We need one that can prevent them.

Phillips can do a pretty good job from preventing us from putting up points.

I saw a picture of Phillips on the Sun website playing with some local guys. He looks pretty good, I guess he's avoided the fat trap.
