Awesome lines.

Muller is not Mo.

If the kids can play well enough to allow for a Tlusty-Jokinen-Larose line, that's a big deal. That's a solid 3rd line, both offensively and defensively.

Here's hoping Dalpe and Boychuk can get it done.

Personally I prefer stacking the 1st PP line. Going all out for 1:20 is more appealing to me than spreading it out over 2 minutes. But that'a just me.
I would guess it's more likely Tlusty-Jokinen-LaRose as the 2nd pp unit..at least to start the season..with Pitkanen and Sangs? But I'm with you. I prefer stacking the 1st PP line. It does mean that it will always be the 3rd or 4th line going out after a PP if they are out there for most of it and score, but so be it.

I like it
Plus, since the last time #12 played the point on PP he's improved his defensive play. So this could really be something to watch!

That's a lot like the 05-06 season where they'd send out the Adams-Adams-Larose energy line after the PP.

Man, Saturday can't come soon enough!

I like the pp being stacked combined with Muller's PP system, I expect it to be a main strength.

Playoffs here we come!!!

This is true. I just got a phone call from Kirk Muller. Seems like a nice guy. He said they've been having a vigorous training camp and that he committed to delivering a team that plays to win and works hard every night.

Aw man I thought it was just me. Me and Captain Kirk (as his friends call him) are pretty close. I'm not jealous or anything though.

Bob McKenzie tweets that we're considering Gomez, along with Anaheim.

Cue freak out, even though he'd probably come at minimum wage.

Actually wouldn't mind that for a league minimum to play 3C..

If it means moving Jokinen up to the 2nd line I'm all for it. Now I'd prefer Arnott for 3C, but it is what it is I guess.

Otherwise GTFO.

Speed is becoming a real issue for Arnott. I'm not sure he has NHL jets anymore.

Gomez isn't great, but it would be amusing at least and it could potentially be a big improvement to get Jussi out of that spot.

If it turns back into a defensive line like the Sutter line was I'm not too worried about Arnott's speed. Just put speedy wingers with him, let them back-check, and then have Arnott work the tough battles. Honestly though, there's really no good answer right now.

Same question I had about Connolly in the other thread: is Gomez worth dropping Dalpe out of the top 6 and possibly down to Charlotte to put Jussi there and Gomez at 3C with Tlusty and Larose? Or would the lines be:
Tlusty-Gomez-Dalpe
Dwyer-Brent-Larose

with Bowman and Westgarth up in the press box?

Yes, I think that this is why we would pursue Gomez. Reunites Juice and Skinner to play with Jstaal. It also allows Boychuk and Dalpe to switch on either wing of Staal for different nights. Mind that Semin is capable of right and left wing.

1 year, anything under $1.5 mil for Gomez, and I'm fine.

For 48 games, he's worth the risk.

EDIT: By "I'm fine," I mean, "I won't shoot myself in the face." I'd rather just see us go into the season with these 23. Adding Gomez at this point would be like bringing in Tim Harrer; with one of them already going home as it is, parents flying in and buying tickets, this is the family the Canes want to go to the Finals with.

$1.5 million pro-rated, or $1.5 equivalent for the 48 games?

Anyone else remember that time Scott Gomez got in a scrum with Tlusty behind the play, wherein he viciously rubbed Tlusty's face into the ice for a full 5 seconds with no penalty called?

Now they could be linemates.
