Good for him, and them. He's been solid. And he had a (for him untypical) spectacular, highlight-reel goal last week, going through 4 or all 5 opposing players before scoring from the blue line. Was it among the KHL's Goals of the Week? It definitely should have.
I hope so. He's a great guy and one of Slovan's leaders this season, although he sometimes has off games, too.
He will be NSA=UFA after season. Yes, he wont sign with russian club IMO, but better to sign him as soon as possible (for 2 seasons). He is one of best Slovan´s forwards, if not best.
No, that's old-era prejudice. How many preparation games does Canada's national team play before Olympic Games? That's right, zero.
And it's worked so well for them over the years... What the Canadians are forced to deal with, is irrelevant. Europeans countries have always done it this way, you don't just throw players into the World Championship squad, the players need to earn it. It has always been like that and it will always be. There's too much pressure on the federations and head coaches, the price of failure is too much not do it like it's always been done.
The current damn pseudo-tournament in Norway is so unimportant that not a single Slovak TV channel bothers to show the Slovak national team's games today and tomorrow. Does anything more need to be said?
Fedorov gave exclusive interview to our local sports newspaper writer in windsor, old relationship from his days in detroit.... Thinking about KHL comeback... IDK he looked pretty bad at the KHL allstar weekend. Id rather him not wreck the great memories he gave us of him blowing by everyone here in Detroit... Him and the Russian 5 gave us IMO the best hockey the world's ever seen!
Trolling much, Jussi? Your pseudo-"logic" is the same as if you were rejecting cars because in all the previous centuries, people used to ride horses. You need to learn to accept different opinions from yours. My opinion is that Europeans should adopt the Canadian model and just do away with these silly overlong league breaks for the sake of meaningless international games and tournaments. They may have been appropriate in the past, with no international league like the KHL in place, but now with the KHL in operation, they need to be cancelled.

You are in the extreme minority, though I wouldn't mind if they went with the proposed model of a double-header weekend games. Funny thing about the international breaks is that fans in Finland are actually expecting them because often the teams are really looking tired/messed up before and in need of a break to train. SM-Liiga season is already 60 games long and just about every fan agrees that is 5-10 games too much, but knowing the greed of the clubs, the shorter breaks would just be used to add games rather than shorten the season schedule.
I also don't think Russian hockey federation support a Canadian model either. As long as the current top leagues/federations support it, it will NOT go away. Another thing to consider is the junior tournaments going on at the same time. Increasing number of Sm-Liiga players are playing in U-20 or U18 tournaments then and if there's games on Tuesday, that would extend the physical burden on them during that week.
As we know, there are "table prize" for develped players in czech clubs. Something similar works in Slovakia as well. It is a financiach cash which Lev Prague had to pay czech clubs for czech players who was or was not with contract. If a player (Krejčik as example) had contract with czech club (Slavia in case of Krejčik), Lev had to pay extra transfer fee. If a player played for NT, NHL or so, "table prize" can be 140% of basic one. Lev paid for D Skoula, who had no contract with czech club, played abroad since 2005/06. But he has youth club somewhere in czech rep, so Lev has to pay.
To sum up, acc.to article, Lev paid approximatelly 1,3 mil USD to czech clubs. Not so much, but it is nice bonus for czech clubs.
yep, february and march is a period when newcomers apply.
Yes hopefully some more surprises to come... Just not bad surprises like MNK. I believe they are the only ones at risk of dropping out now that Avto secured financing.
We do. The Norwegian sport media, and us fans was very proud to beat former WC finalist Slovakia. Even though they missed several NHL stars.
We missed our top player Patric Thoresen

I agreed 100% . For us here in Norway, the national team is very important to gain much needed interest from media, and hopefully new fans, and kids starting to play.
Take women's handball i.e. Now body care for the Posten League, but The Women National team is gaining very large interesting, and very good TV ratings.
The NT breaks are needed. Training is good, 50-60 games regular season are boring and useless if we isolate just the sport, and don't talk about economic.
