Its looking like Panthers Vs Canes Jan 19t in Sunrise. At least thats what the rumors have been. Hopefully its true, Id really enjoy seeing Carolinas new team. Definitley think they'll end up in the playoffs.
Yeah SE is going to be CRAZY this year. Caps are still the Caps, Panthers had a nice year last year with a young core, Canes revamped up front and added a lot of offensive depth, Jets added more depth, and the Bolts changed their goaltending situation around.

Seriously. Cant wait to see how it shakes out! Who knows maybe this could be the year the SE starts to get some respect
but yeah as of right now I think 3 SE teams get in, and the biggest reason it's not 4 is that I think Ottawa or Buffalo will be able to take advantage of a weaker division and get enough points to keep someone out.
No word yet (would be absolute PR suicide if they didn't), but we should hear later about the vote when the memorandum of understanding is signed. I would expect both the ratification by the players and the MOU signing to be announced today.
Florida loser pointed, lucked, and overachieved their way into the playoffs and still barely got it. They lost Garrison and added Mueller. Really not much improvement. Tampa is injury prone and is starting essentially rookie/ super inexperienced goalie, maybe he works out maybe not. I'd say the Caps will be better but beatable. If there was ever a shot for our division, it's this year with Semin and Staal.
Is there any particular reason people think the Caps will be better than last year? All they did was trade out Semin for Ribeiro, right? I mean yeah now they can finally move Laich to 3C which is sweet center depth but their winger depth seems brutal to me...
And they've fixed their defense how? I mean, Crosby was healthy in the playoffs and look how that turned out. They even got rid of Michalek and are rumored to be looking at Gonchar. It's like they're actively trying to make their weakness worse.

From what I've seen, people are making massive assumptions that Holtby is the real deal.

Yeah, winning games 7-6 can only get you so far in a season. Eventually those games will turn the other way. That's one thing that concerns me about this team as well.
