Flyers need depth defender (Murray)

What you can say, Pronger is out , Meszarov is half out, Bourdon is out. AHL defenders wasnt so good at this season in AHL.

There was someting about Kurtis Foster, i did see him in Finland and **** no for he coming to Flyer, never. Lazy, no skating, no physical just nothing else bu big and shot.

I think we need depht defender. Some rumours says that San Josen is trading Douglas Murray off, can that be what we need?

What is his value? Maybe just 3nd rounder pick? I would do that to get some muscle and defensive skill.

Like this:

Timonen - Schenn
Coburn - Grossman
"Murray" - Meszarov(when healty)

Or just try to trade or sign some young top1 coming defender like Subban/Kulikov...

Pay no attention to the order of the defensive pairings listed. Having Schenn with Kimmo first doesn't mean they're the top pairing.

Leopold or Regehr are available from the Sabres. Looking primarily for 3C, or anything that helps our offense out.

That's a physical d-core you got there. Perhaps you should go for an OFD.

Are the Flyers really planning on having Meszaros on the 3rd pairing? That would make them incredibly deep. What about Gervais, Lilja, Bourdon and Gustafsson? Seems like a good enough group to round out the defence from #6 to #9 with.

We did apparently. But we could still use another D man.

Meszaros and Gustafsson are both out

Pretty sure he signed a full contract in Europe, not just a lockout deal.

Are there actually rumors that SJS is trading Murray?

LA has several NHL ready PMD prospects they can part with.

Our team needs are a first rounder, a good backup or an even better defensive prospect that's a couple years away. We can use some picks as well.

T.J. Brennan from the Sabres would be a nice player to try and acquire. Has local ties and wouldn't cost all that much.

For Murray, a 3rd line forward. I'm guessing Matt Read and Max Talbot are off the table though.

Would do Murray for Read in a heartbeat, but I highly doubt Philly would part with that youngster.

No but if Braun continues to improve, Murray would be a healthy scratch. Since he makes $2.5 million and we need some high-energy 3rd/4th liners, he makes an obvious trade bait.

After Handzus, Murray, Greiss and Clowe are the most expendable since they are UFAs. We'll likely keep Clowe, but not so much Murray. For $2.5 million, it makes more sense to spend it on a 3rd line C instead of bottom-pairing defenseman.

However, since the new cap will be $64.3 million, we can afford to keep Clowe and Murray so we're not in any hurry to trade Murray. But Wilson would be wise to trade him if it fills a need.

We did, Flyers don't need any more depth d-men

Kimmo-Schenn
Coburn-Grossmann
Foster-Gervais
Lilja

With Mez and Gus coming back relatively soon.

After this year Walker, Lilja and maybe Foster are gone (don't know details of his contract if indeed he was signed). Kimmo's contract is also up after this season but if he doesn't retire he'll probably re-sign. Flyers will be looking to add a d-man in the offseason not now. I would actually prefer to go after someone like Rundblad if possible or just a UFA not another bandaid that cost assets.

Franson has an out-clause.

Could see a deal to be made there. Brennan would probably be a good fit in Philly-- he's pretty physical/very willing to get involved in scrums and has a bomb of a shot. Got any bottom 6 centers you could live without? Because Buffalo's 2 short.

We have Eric Wellwood and Harry Z available, but both don't really play center.

Both are bottom 6 players, with wellwood being(IMO) the better player. He has alright hands but his best attribute is his speed. Guy can flat out fly.

Franson could be had for a 2nd....gives you guys a big right handed shot, and people like to give him a hard time but when he was actually played on the right side...he was pretty good. Under rated physically, he's not Luke Schenn but he wasn't a stranger to using his size.

Only down size is his foot speed could be a touch better.

Lucky to get a 3rd for Franson and it's not just his foot speed. With Gardiner out for awhile I believe the Leafs will not be trading any of their D.

What's Matt Walker's status? Will he still be buried in the minors?
