Wondering if the situation that Mrs Summer Ruutu (assuming that this is Tuomo's wife, anyway) has set up for herself is something that we're all ok with. Is it kosher to forego defenseman positions so as to hold an extra bench spots for forwards and/or goaltenders?

I would think the "spirit" of the league would be one that plays defenseman as intended, but if we're going to play "anything goes", then I'll probably follow suit and use some D positions as bench spots to allow for more prolific positional players on my roster.

So, speak up if you disagree with this practice. I'll assume silence on everyone's part means acceptance, and tomorrow I'll make changes to my roster to take advantage.

Yeah I know there's no written rule against it, but that said it does somewhat violate the spirit of the position breakdown. I'm thinking the games played limit is going back in next season if this is a tactic that's used by a bunch of people this season.

limit is back on, 55 (for this season) so as to give some flexibility but so as not to really get excessive in that regard.

Maybe just limit rosters to no more than 2 bench spots...can that be done?

EDIT: I see now the roster limit. Not sure if that's really going to do anything here...we're all massively in the minus in each position, including Mrs Ruutu. The only way that will be effective is if there's a 48-game max for each slot.

PS: regardless of how this situation is addressed, I think a Max Games factor should always be a part of our league.

I'm against goalie hoarding. Otherwise I'm indifferent to how we handle all that. I'd like to maybe have spaces for us to keep our prospects that maybe wouldn't count against our extra spots. We maybe have the prospects BE the extra spots. I don't know. Just have them around when we want to use them somehow as a bonus for good drafting.

Actually I am all for Max games the more I think on it.
