We're still looking to move Corey Perry. We're looking for good young rosters players at all positions.

have completed three moves today and will comment tomorrow. Or never.

Focus shifts to Ray Whitney, Michael Ryder, Derek Roy, and Stephane Robidas.

Looking for RH defense prospects, a 3rd line center, or draft picks. Looking for another 1st round pick and would make nice bundles of players above to get another.

Also if someone else cares about this stuff, I'd swap a LH defense prospect for a RH defense prospect of equal value.

But St. Louis' PM stated that he would be playing with just Pietrangelo. Can't imagine him being upset with that.

THE PEN IS MIGHTIER

Pittsburgh, PA Today was a huge day for Pittsburgh Penguins fans. Earlier this morning, they acquired Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks. As the clock struck midnight, the Penguins came to agreements on two more trades to greatly improve their club. They acquired defenseman Mark Streit from the New York Islanders, in exchange for Chris Stewart (recently acquired from St. Louis), Matt Niskanen, and their 1st round draft pick in 2013. The Penguins also received youngsters Matt Donovan and Kirill Kabanov. In a third trade, the Penguins have brought back Jaromir Jagr to Pittsburgh. Going to Dallas is prospect Scott Harrington. GM IR had this to say; "**** yeah." However, some are questioning his motives as it appears he will not be trading Joe Morrow, Olli Maatta, or Simon Despres.

Agressively shopping Lubomir Visnovsky and Evgeni Nabokov. Only limited interest in both so far, could definitely help a contender moving forward.

Also shopping Ty Wishart, Eric Boulton and Kaspars Daugavins for anyone that needs 7th D/13th forward type depth on the cheap.

Prospect-wise I'm shopping Kevin Poulin and Brendon Kitchon for a forward prospect

Vancouver is making Alexander Edler available, if you're interested hit me up. Not really looking to move him for picks/prospects though, although I'll consider all offers.

We're also looking to move Teemu Selanne. He would most likely need to be moved to a team where he has a connection and is a playoff team.

The Avalanche are looking to move:

Jan Hejda (Shutdown top-4 LHD)
Ryan O'Byrne (Shutdown top-4 RHD)
Greg Zanon (Defensive D LHD)
Shane O'Brien (Two-Way LHD)
Matt Hunwick (Offensive LHD)

Mostly because we have too many defenders. Zanon, O'Brien and Hunwick will go for pretty cheap

Willing to throw together a decent package for a young defenceman under contract.

Andrew MacDonald + Josh Bailey/Nino Niederreiter + Andrey Pedan + PIT 1st in 2013

We have signed Stephen Weiss to a 5 year contract extension. The deal will pay him 5.5 million a year, and comes with a LNTC.

TRADE BLOCK

Few names i'm actively shopping. Tho i'm willing to listen to others (which i reserve the right to ridicule if they are bad )

Steve Mason: Looking for a young G that needs a change of scenary? Moving for a pick/prospect or a G (tho i'd be fine with Bobrovsky/York)

Aucoin: Great veteran #5-6D for a playoff team that is UFA. Decent pick/prospect/upgrade (Aucoin + guy for better guy) will do

Prospal: Quality Top 6 veteran rental. Ideally would want a 1st or great prospect, but taking all offers

Umberger: probably the most expendable of my "core players". Won't sell him for scraps but he is very much in play for a young NHLer with upside + pick/prospect, or Umberger+ for a high-end guy

Wiz- See Umberger. Quality guy i wouldn't be upset keeping, but in play for a similar package

McElhinney/Jourdrey- UFA depth. You can never have enough depth in the postseason. Any decent offer will do

Blockbuster in Minnesota: Brothers united!

Jonas Hiller
Saku Koivu

Niklas Backstrom
Matt Dumba
Torrey Mitchell
Johan Gustafsson

The Wild have acquired yesterday center Saku Koivu and goaltender Jonas Hiller from the Anaheim Ducks. In return, pending UFA Niklas Backstrom heads west, along with top prospect Matt Dumba, forward Torrey Mitchell and prospect Johan Gustafsson. The Wild are clearly making a push for the cup this year. Captain Mikko Koivu seemed really excited when he commented the news. "It's been a dream for Saku and I to play together in this league, and to do it at this point, when our team is shaping up into a real contender, is just perfect timing. It goes without saying that him and I, and everyone else in this locker room, will work the extra mile to get him a cup before he retires."

Moving Backstrom was somewhat of a surprise to everyone, but Minnesota's GM drnaud81 explained it as a strategic move. "It is saddening to part with an extremely solid goaltender and super good guy, but with his contract status and our current salary situation, it was becoming clear we wouldn't be able to re-sign him next year, especially with the cap being $6m less. We couldn't risk losing him and not being able to get another guy, which would have put too much pressure on young Hackett. Hiller is a solid keeper that will be able to get us where we want too, and for an extra year as well."

Guillame Latendresse can be had for a UFA-to-be defenseman/2nd round pick/mid level prospect.
