Will comment on the trade later. For now, we celebrate the Finnish Flash + Beau Bennetts arrival in San Jose. We also waive JDD. Sorry bud.

While our goaltending looks a little questionable after this, we believe in Brian Elliot despite all the haters, and we have another move lined up to solidify things.
confirm.

Why do you think he's making the playoffs?

Peter Mueller

Konrad Abeltshauser

After seeing Peter's health has improved, we sought to bring him into the organization. We've seen the benefit of rolling 3 lines as we were previously doing, and we'll be returning to those ways with Thornton/Couture/Pavelski each centering a line.

Confirm. Mueller is definitely a good player when healthy, but he doesn't fit our style as a bottom 6 forward. We're glad to bring back a solid prospect after our Edmonton trade.

Still looking for a top 4 right handed defenceman. Kopecky, Kuba, Jovocop, Weaver, Santorelli and Clemmensen remain available.

We'd also like to announce the following RFA signings:

Dimitri Kulikov: 4 years at 4 million per
Sam Gagner: 3 years at 3.8 million per
Jacob Markstrom: 2 years at 1.4 per
Shawn Matthias: 2 years at 1.5 per
Keaton Ellerby: 2 years at 1.2 per
Colby Robak: Qualifying Offer

The Hobbit Heads Somewhat Less East: An Unexpected Journey

The Anaheim Ducks have sent forward Corey Perry to the St. Louis Blues. In exchange, they received David Perron, Ty Rattie, and Brian Dumoulin. The Ducks will also send a Conditional 2nd round pick in the 2014 draft dependent on Perry re-signing with the Blues.

Boo ya! The Blues are ecstatic to add Corey Perry to their forward corps. We see him as a perfect compliment for the truculent style of hockey we want to play. We will make every effort to resign him as we see him as a leader for our offense for years to come.

We thank David for his years of service and we hated letting Rattie go but we felt that it was necessary to put us over the top. We have a dominant team from top to bottom and feel we are the at the top of the league at this point.

Steen-O'Reilly-Perry
Clowe-Backes-Oshie
Tarasenko-Berglund-Clarkson
Schwartz-Sobotka-McDonald

Giordano-Pietrangelo
Jackman-Gilbert
Polak-(we have acquired a veteran but can not announce yet)

Halak
Hedberg

Really don't like Steen on your 1st line. I'm also not sold on O'Reilly but that's just me. I would switch Steen and Tararensko but that would make your 1st line somewhat unproven.

I hope the defenseman you have acquired is a physical defensive defenseman.

Oh and Halak sucks!

Polak and Jackman are defensive physical dmen. Giordano is not soft.

Steen is a 50 point very good 2way player. O'Reilly was the same on a very bad team. I could switch Backes to the 1st line like he was all last season but I like that 2nd line together.

I have 3 top pairing dmen in Pietrangelo, Giordano and Jackman and 2 more top 4.

My 3rd line has a 50 point 2way center and a 30 goal power forward plus a very promising power forward.

I don't see a team that matches up with my depth anywhere in the league.

The Avalanche are placing Steve Downie, Jamie McGinn, Paul Stastny, David Jones, PA Parenteau, Greg Zanon, Shane O'Brien, Ryan O'Byrne and Matt Hunwick on the trade block. We are looking for a top-4 younger LHD and a top-6 RW sniper.

The Avs are also willing to move picks, as well as Duncan Siemens and Stefan Elliott.

Shattenkirk/Russell would look damn good right about now.. Jackman, Gilbert and Polak are total wastes of space on offense. Going to have to have some forwards on the point on the PP to make things run smoothly.

Still looking for a 3rd line left winger. Prefer someone with some defensive strength and a two-way game.
