3 way deal

It's too quiet here. I want to stir up some discussion.

To Edmonton: David Legwand and Nashville's rd 2 pick.
To Nashville: Ales Hemsky, Alexei Semenov and rd 3 pick.

then...

To Dallas: Ales Hemsky, Alexei Semenov and Edm's rd 3 pick.
To Nashville: Jason Arnott and Trevor Daley

All 3 teams are giving up a lot.

Flame on Johnny!

The first deal-The Preds need to add centers not subtract them.

The second deal-If the Stars decide to rebuild then it's a possibilty but not if Daley is included. The Stars need to add d-men. Try Miettenen instead

seems to be a wash for Nashville, they give up a young(ish) center and a second to get an older more expensive center and Daley, who IMO is not enough incentive to part with legwand.

Value is there, but Stars just can't deal Arnott.

Ohh i'd be tempted as an edmonton fan, if only to get legwand. I think he would do rather well in edmonton's system, and we definitely lack a top center.

Although giving up Hemsky AND Semenov would hurt...

This was my original thinking about Legwand. I'm not an Edmonton fan but I think his speed would be great there.

Basically, it's:

Edmonton gets: David Legwand, 2nd Round
Edmonton gives: Ales Hemsky, Alexei Semenov, 3rd Round

Dallas gets: Ales Hemsky, Alexei Semenov, 3rd Round
Dallas gives: Jason Arnott, Trevor Daley

Nashville gets Jason Arnott, Trevor Daley
Nashville gives: David Legwand, 2nd Round

Not bad, I suppose. But as someone else said, it's a wash for Nashville. Points for trying?

Agreed with the common sentiment here. We have zero use for Daley and Arnott would be good in compliment to Legwand, not in place of.

Pretty fair value but I can't see any of these teams doing this deal.

Arnott will likely be free next year anyway and will likely not be back in dallas given his salary

Right.. you're forgetting that Turgeon is gone by then as well. Don't tell me you'd feel comfortable with a 36 year old Mike Modano as your only scoring center. Niko Kapanen as the 2nd line pivot would result in a lottery pick.. Jason Arnott is very important to the Stars, and if the Stars will not re-sign him, they will no longer compete.
