Again, you are misinterpreting what I am saying. The Sportsnet rumour that is is a done deal was said by John Shannon in October, which is what I said above. I believe he has his sources, and have little doubt in his findings.

All I am stating is we are hearing it is said on HNIC Radio, Elliott Price, etc...in the last day or two. I have yet to hear from anyone that actually can confirm this was said.

The fact that this latest rumour says it will be announced tomorrow is factually wrong, adn was first started by some bimbo last night.....

That's absolutely terrible. I hope Aquilini is able to fire Gillis right now if that's seriously what he intends to do.

Yeah, I'd say the likelihood of a TOR 1st being involved is slim to none.

That would just be dumb.

If you knew anything about Matt Frattin and kept Luongo's contract in mind, it's a good deal for Vancouver.

IF this does in fact happen, it's probably going to be a deal that neither side truly loves.... and when both sides are a little "angry" than you know that's how it's a fair deal.

Tremendous speed, too.

Clarke could/should be dumped for a pick and/or prospect. Don't bring anything back unless someone is dumb and offers a better player straight up for Clarke.

Kadri also seems to be a setup guy. Grabo is that and Bozak seems to be that. This half year on the 3rd line wouldn't really hurt Kadri, but would his not-fully-developed ability really matter to help make the leafs deeper ?

Unless of course Bozak is moved, then there's Kadri's spot.

Trade one of Bozak/Clarke (doubt Vancouver wants both) in the Luongo deal. Then add skill, size and youth to the lineup with Kadri and Frattin after the other one of Bozak/Clarke is dealt.

Just like trading Luongo for spare parts would be dumb. I sincerely hope this rumor is just a troll by some fan on twitter or an errored report by a media member.

If I'm Toronto, trading Kadri, Colbourne, Ashton or Frattin isn't a big deal.
MacArthur, Kadri, and a 3rd seems about right.

I just think IF a deal is done for Luongo, 1 of Kadri/Frattin is gone. All of this begs another question.....as Bozak seems to be a sure thing to go....does Burke have another deal for a center lined up?

Not all players develop the same way. Frattin is a good player, make no mistake about it. He has a laser shot, is fast and built like an ox. At Frattin's age Mason Raymond just broke out for 25G and 28A, before that he had 44PTS in 121 games. The only thing Frattin doesn't have going for him is the fact he cannot utilize his teammates, he's a definitely a major leaguer though. Leafs fans are split on who is better, Frattin or Kadri, I think it's without a doubt Frattin. Me thinks Canucks fans would warm up to him quite quickly if he is part of a return for Luongo. Whatever the case may be, I just want this over with, whether it's with or without Luongo. I'll take a stab at it and guess its Bozak, Frattin + something small

Boy don't I wish I could get angry about acquiring a player who is top 5 at his position, and have my team give up nothing but spare parts.

I think it's cute that Leaf fans still think a dime-a-dozen player like Tyler Bozak might be the main piece in a trade for Luongo.

It's hilarious.

Yep. There are not many assurances in life, but that is about as close as you can get to death and taxes. The Leaf first will NOT be packaged for Luongo.

And before someone says "then you don't get Luongo", so be it. Burke is not dealing a first for Luongo.

What do you think the main piece will/would be?

I agree. I will say this though, i think you are selling Kadri a little short. The kid has had some issues in his game, but he worked with Roberts in the offseason to build muscle/strength...has become more of a playmaker that a puckhog and is working hard on his defense, all of this shows an eagerness to improve. He also plays all 3 forward positions.

To be fair, everyone including Bob McKenzie have said that he would be one of the main pieces coming back. I personally don't think Bozak is a good fit here but I see it happening.

How the hell can it be announced tomorrow if the earliest official day of trades is Saturday?

If Cody Hodgson didn't get along with our coach, Nazem Kadri certainly won't either. Maybe we can flip Kadri for a 4th line goon at the deadline and really get nothing back for Luongo.
