Fantastic POV. I'll look at it that way from now on, except for Rangers games.

Wow, what a joke. So they plan on putting the schedule out less then a week before they plan on starting the season? Every body make sure you keep your schedules clear, you may or may not have a hockey game in your town next weekend.

As it got down toward zero hour it was pretty clear it was going to be either 50 or 48 games. Would it have been that much to ask to get a couple diferent schedules set a couple weeks ago so that if the lockout was ended they could get some dates out there so the fans they've been crapping on for months could start planing on going to actually see a hockey game?

Probably has to do with shuffling dates and making sure the arenas are available. I would imagine that is not easily done.

I think I would like this better than the Rangers, to be honest. It gives the Isles more opportunities to sell out, as the Rags games are all but guaranteed sell outs anyway.
Count me in as crossing my fingers hoping we get NJ.

In addition to getting to open without annoying Rag fans, maybe we can get Brodeur while he is still fat

bettman in his post BOG PC said they are still undergoing changes to the schedule due to building issues..

we originally had a home game set for the 19th and 21st, so its safe to assume, well have both dates at home.. they said they wanted to try to keep the original schedule's home dates for teams the same while being able to squeeze in the extra games along the way

probably on friday well see the schedule

Rangers opening in Boston. Something must have changed. We (kind of) dodged a bullet, here.

Love the Isles, been here a while although I'm irrational, but a NYR first game would have been brutal for moral with a loss. And we likely would have been stomped, on the ice and in the stands.

I agree. Would have been terrible to have the players booed by the Ranger fans during the intros. A Devils or Sabres (other rumors I've heard for opponents on the 19th) opener is a much more palatable game.

36? The website says season ticket price for those sections is $28. What did they raise ticket prices due to the lockout?! That's meant to be sarcastic, but I probably don't actually want to know the answer to that.

cant wait next week!!!

5-7 day training camp. IMO coaching will come into play big time because of the short prep time and shortend season...

in deed we will be opening at home.

isles vs devs home opener on the 19th (730 start due to pregame welcome back videos)
and a team still TBD on MLK Monday at 3 pm.. (president inauguration going on at that time, thats why its 3 pm and not the normal 1 pm holiday start)

then we go on a 1 week road trip due to coliseum being booked up

rest of schedule to come saturday morning after the players vote finishes at 8 am..
