They could.
They'd still have to move more money though. they're going to be around $10mil. over next year.
Boston is in a similar boat. They have to move players without taking back salary.

Leafs sent Morgan Rielly down which officially ends the Brian Burke era
very smart move. I think he will be very good one day but know way was he anywhere nere ready defensively.
On the flip side the Wild keep Dumba up? Not sure how they plan to shelter him?

Probably only keep him for <5 games... no way Dumba is even close to NHL ready

Yes, and yes. Here's the broadcast crew (TV and radio) for this year:

I agree.
Though, Wild are very thin on D. He might stick around as a 6th dman, but the best thing for him would be to go back to Jr.

Ben Scrivens is starting tonight for the Leafs against the Habs? Really?
I think the Leafs need to make that Luongo deal (or any deal for a NHL goalie) right away, or is Nonis entering the MacKinnon/Jones sweepstakes early?

FWIW, opening day rosters have been posted on nhl.com
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...d=nhl:topheads
Interesting that Yakupov, Galchenyuk, Grigorenko and Dumba are the only 2012 draftees to crack the roster (unless I'm missing someone). Weren't there 10-12 2011 draftees last season?
EDIT: Looks like Matteau made the Devils, so 5 guys.

Murray would have made it too. Didn't Laughton make the Philly line-up?

Not having GCL sucks.
I was going to keep an eye on the Pens-Flyers game today but it isn't available anywhere on the Shaw listing.

Agree. Classy. I love the honoring and involving players of years prior. The passing of the torch. Tradition. Cool touch by the Habs.
Looking forward to this Leafs vs. Habs game, will likely be a lot more entertaining than our dud of a game.

WTF has CBC done to the colour on their broadcast?
Every time I switch to that game it looks like I am watching animation.
