This is a pretty bad offer.

Ryan probably isn't super eager to play for Carlyle
Leafs have too many wingers. Don't need more cap space being used by them. Kessel/Lupul/Kadri/Frattin/MacArthur/JVR/Kulemin all need ice time, one of those guys will need to be on the 4th pair to play.
Ducks need a 2nd line C, and a better return.

Boudreau is looking internally to fix our center problems. Short of someone like Gally entering the equation, I don't see that changing, nor do I expect Alex to be made available.

I don't think Gardiner would go back to Anaheim, especially now that his bff is gone.

Keep in mind one thing here. Toronto and Anaheim have been very frequent trade partners. Murray and Burke are close. There were rumors that Anaheim had granted Toronto an exclusive window to negotiate with Schultz before he became a free agent. Toronto and Anaheim have made a healthy number of trades in the past. One thing is for sure, if Ryan is to be made available, Burke will definitely be in on it, and will be given every opportunity to acquire him.

Burke is a class act all the way and there is no way he'll ever try to lowball Anaheim in any way.

Jake Gardiner is a hell of a talent and everyone saw that last year. With Morgan Rielly drafted this year who projects to be an even better skating version of Gardiner (hard to believe you can even skate better than Gardiner, but its true), I think Gardiner could be made available for the right player. I think Ryan is that player.

He fills a huge void for the Leafs. We desperately need size on the wing.

I really think that any attempt to land Ryan in Toronto died when they traded for JVR. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if a failed attempt on Burke's part may have motivated it.

Would Anaheim do something like:

Jake Gardiner
Clarke MacArthur
Tyler Biggs

?
Just stop man just stop DK. Your creating a whole new Toronto b Ryan thread again that duck fans are overly disgusted by from years now..... Ryan's locked up for our team for years now regardless of Getz and Perry's situation so were good.

It wasn't to rent, it was to own.

It isn't just you. Burke went in hard and dry on more than one occasion.

At least Burke makes up for it at the draft.

EDM needs size in their top 6 I would do a deal involving Yak.
Ryan; RNH; Eberle
Hall; Gagner; Hemsky

I would be happy with that as long has Hemsky stays healthy.

I would want to make sure that Ryan would want to stay in EDM past his contract though.

I can't remember exactly but didn't Murray ask for Kessel + Schenn for Ryan last time around. Even though Kessel's value has gone up it would take a huge package like that to get him.

Tough deal. Getting Ryan to agree to an extension two and a half years before hitting free agency would be tough (is it even legal?). 8 years of Ryan is a pretty awesome return on the 1st overall pick for Edmonton though.

I was just going to say...

I'd do a deal around Burmistrov, a highly skilled centre who si very good defensively...but we're waiting for the offense to catch up. By all accounts it should be soon. I do realize that a great deal would need to be added.

I know that he can't resign now just a verbal saying that yes he wants to be part of EDM for the long term.

If Ryan is on the block getting Yak is pretty close to the best deal you would get. Talk about being a homer wanting more than the 1st over all pick. That is why fans are not GMs, they over value their players and prospects.

What makes you think that we will want to trade a first line forward for a guy that might be a first line forward someday? What kind of sense does that make?

considering he projects to be like a 50g winger...

I bet you would have passed on Crosby too when he hadn't proved anything.
