Poor dude. Just gets engaged and now it seems like him getting traded/waived is inevitable. I always liked him as a player and it's pissing me off that Yeo can't at least give him a game here or there.
This will be the only place and time ever where Granlund is ever described as:
"With one goal and three points through his first 10 games, the Wild will need the brother of Flames’ prospect Markus Granlund to pick up his game to help ignite Minnesota’s offense from the second line.

I know the passionate Wild fans are growing restless but no team was hurt more by the lockout (no preseason, short camp), given the nearly 40 percent roster turnover. Going to take time to get these guys to gel.
You would think that a team with Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu, Dany Heatley, Devin Setoguchi, Mikael Granlund and Pierre-Marc Bouchard could do a little better than 2.1 goals per night…but the team’s current play indicates otherwise.
To be fair, it was a large roster shuffle in Minnesota, but a combined three goals in games against Anaheim, Phoenix and Vancouver is hard to justify.
Ex-Ranger Mike Rupp makes his Wild debut on Thursday night. Hopefully they give the respectable veteran ample ice time and look for production, rather than asking him to drop the gloves.
Minnesota has yet to win a game away from Xcel Energy Center, and it’s in the bottom third in goal production. Enter Charlie Coyle, a rookie just called up to give the offense a spark
They remain a bit up and down, being the first team to take two points from the Blackhawks then dropping one to the Ducks. ... They are still being outshot most nights, which isn't good. They 27th in the league in shots for at even strength.
After a listless 2-1 loss at Phoenix on Monday night, the Wild held a players-only meeting. So far, the team with the $98 million twins (Ryan Suter and Zach Parise) hasn't won on the road (0-3-1). And Suter's stats after nine games: no goals, four assists, -7. The many people around the league who thought Suter was by far the most overpaid of the Wild's two free agent plums are surely smirking now. Parise, though, has delivered 10 points. Another problem: Devin Setoguchi, who came from San Jose in a trade two years ago, is probably back on the block. He failed to score a goal in his first nine games, after posting only 36 points in 69 games for the Wild last season. If this team dips a few games below .500, coach Mike Yeo is going to be in some serious trouble.
Dude I had one next to me that was banging. Was completely shy until she got 2-3 drinks in her. Her bf and I were ripping her the entire game about her phone. Even made a bet with her for the last 2 periods whoever pulled their phone out first would have to buy drinks at the bar later
And then two behind me that were more my age (28) that holy crap...if my dad wouldn't have been there I probably would of been making a pass
We had a tall gorgeous blonde in front of us. Every time she got up her pants were 1/2 down her butt. We thought we had died and gone to Heaven.
If you made a list of sports movies made about a team of loveable losers, you’d have a list of every sports movie ever made.

comes in waves. the big picture is almost always funny, but the little things like moments in games can make me lose sight of that. for some people supporting the Wild seems like agony at times...i don't understand why they do it.
jarick,i respect your opinion however i live & breath the wild. its my only favorite team! (unlike some others / flavor of the month). people ask me how are you today? sometimes i say "better than the wild" or better than my hockey team. i was a die hard northstars fan and part of me died when they left town. well, cheers & go wild n crazy!

Yeo didn't rule out a Jared Spurgeon return. If he returns, the Wild will have to make a roster move. The only obvious one would be sending Marco Scandella, scratched the past two games, back to the minors. He doesn't require waivers.
Spurgeon hasn't had a full practice though, so it may be too early for a return.
Notes from after the vancouver game. all my opinions
1. We knew the team probably wouldn't be amazing right off the bat. The team obviously needs to gel except for parise/koivu and suter/brodin. Hopefully we see improvement next year if not sooner. If no improvement in a years time, then we can talk coaching change. we need to be patient
2. Spurgeon helped us out a lot. We need him in the lineup. He gets the puck up the ice just as good as Suter if not better sometimes, and can skate it into the zone.
3. Wild need to trade someone, PMB, Seto, or Heatley. Cant bench one of these guys one night then play them the next, imo. Now it kinda looks like PMB is the odd man out.
4. Give zucker a chance and bench heatley or seto one of these days if heater still sucks.
I'd guess that Yeo is out if we miss the playoffs. No one has really reported that the heat is on.
Because I don't believe it is....and I don't think Yeo is the problem.
It's not as if the Wild are getting scoring opportunities, they are...they just ain't capitalizing on them. Not sure how you can really blame Yeo for that.
