Wonder if there are going to be a ton of Ranger fans up for this big one?
This is why these teams belong in the same division.

The funny thing is I went to a game against the Rangers and it was 3-2 Wideman had the game winning back hand from the slot, there was a penalty shot, good fight it was great hockey but every other game between the two has been dry I guess I lucked out

I'm considering going if I can get reasonably priced tickets

Was that his really odd backhander from the high slot? I still remember a goal from him like that... at the time I was thinking "typical Wideman"! lol.

The last Rangers-Bruins game I was at was a 1-0 snoozefest loss. The Garden was silent and I think high school hockey is more exciting even... something about the Rangers style of play nowadays, so boring!

Beggars can't be choosy, and I am just excited to see the Bruins at home on NESN HD! I won't even try to get tickets for the first game.

Just watched highlights from the Bruins/Nucks game from last January. I'm pissed off and ready for some hockey now.

I think and hope this will be not your typical rags - bruins game

Hopefully the boys can just play nice and tight for the first 10 then start to open it up and take more chances...don't want to see a start like against Pheonix

I have a feeling it won't be the usual Boston/NY snoozefest. I think it'll be more of a Pond Hockey game with what little time both teams have to get back into their defensive systems.

I'll actually be in NYC for this one oddly enough. I'll be with a bunch of friends and I'll be decked out in my Bruins' gear. There are a bunch of Boston bars in NYC, but I want to head to a Rangers bar. Opening night? Yeah, this will be fun.

am I the only one who thinks the Rags look worse on paper than they did a year ago? They gave up a lot of depth to get really top-heavy and I think their D overacheived last year.

Yes, unfortunately you won't be able to.

The Rangers schedule was leaked today.

@that person looking at bars here, I would recommend The Flying Puck. Great atmosphere to watch hockey.

Erixon and the 1st weren't in our line-up. We really only gave up Dubinsky and Anisimov from our roster. Dubi had a terrible year offensively, no puck luck at all so his production from last year can easily be replaced by someone like Pyatt. Then Nash takes Anisimov's spot. I'm not seeing the worse team, to be frank.

I can understand the D overachieving, though. Everyone makes Girardi out to be some defensive wizard, while really he's a shotblocking machine who has high defensive hockey IQ, but not great tools. Very slow footspeed - he's benefited from playing with McDonagh and Staal, to be frank. Staal is a good skater, especially for his size and McDonagh is exceptional. We also have Staal all year now while we missed him half of last season.

Girardi plays his best hockey at the start of the season always. Despite his high point totals in the playoffs, he was atrocious. Played some of his worst games defensively there, it was sometimes hard to watch. Staal, on the other hand, played his best since getting back from his concussion.

I'm more concerned with our offensive chemistry. I expect Nash to not even play with Richards. I also expect him not to score over .75 PPG. Richards I expect better from. It's often hard to transition into a new system in the first year (see Kovalchuk). Gaborik I'm the least worried about as he's always a quick starter. A few years back for the Wild, he only played 48 games in the year but still had 30 goals and 57 points.

Good luck in the season, guys. I expect you guys to win the conference this year due to the heavy reliance on divisional play. Hoping for a conference finals match up.

These guys are toast. They`re all afraid of Marchand, and Kinky Hanky Panky is all washed up. 7 - 1, Bruins. Seidenberg hat-trick. Book it.

Great performance by Rask. Should have been a shutout, dumb bounce.

Bruins take the first tilt in a 5 - 4 thriller, while being the best game of the day.

The 19th can't come soon enough. Slowly creeping towards us.
