3.2 actually. To sit at home for 100 days.

48/82X5.5

That's about $10M/calendar year.

No one's at fault except for the guy with the multi-million dollar contract who almost literally cannot score a single goal.

With Benn not signed yet and not at Stars camp, I'm just going to throw out a proposal:

To DAL:
Yakupov
Gagner

To EDM:
Benn
Morrow

Hall RNH Ebs
Morrow Benn Hemsky
Smyth Horcoff Paajarvi
Petrell Belanger Hartikainen

Whitney-Roy-Jagr
Eriksson-Gagner-Ryder
Fiddler-Wandell-Yakupov
___________________

Dallas gets a bit poorer short-term but with a prospect like Yakupov joining the fold they're in good shape.

No to trading Yakupov. I want to see what this kid has.

I hate how this board is willing to dish off Yakupov for some reason. I guarantee you if he were a good Canadian boy he wouldn't be in any proposals.

Makes sense, if he got a hockey related injure the Habs would have been stuck with him. Same thing will happen with Wade Redden and Rick Dipietro.

1st overalls are worth more than both of the players coming back.
Stop trying to dump talent because of body measurements. In that deal we are giving up way too much. Morrow is so old the Nuge practically broke his frail aged body with a hit. Seriously.

No. The prorated amount is $5.5 million. Gomez's contract is for $7.3 million.

I would trade Yak for Benn without thinking and I love Yak.

Benn is exactly what we need....would love to have him or RoR. Here is an article showing how good RoR is http://www.hockeyprospectus.com/arti...articleid=1423

How bad have things gotten for Gomez when he can't even hold a roster spot on a team that finished 28th last year? Geez, this guy used to be a pretty damn good player not that long ago.

With Subban not signed and reportedly wanting 4-4.5 per for 5 years, the Oil might be able to sign him to an offer sheet at this amount while only losing a 1st and a 3rd. I would be all over this if it was possible. Montreal would likely accept but it would be of no harm either way.

agreed. I don't see us having a player in the system that has these attributes either.

Last I heard he wanted a Doughty type contract.

Subban isn't worth that type of money.

He is easily worth $4-4.5M per season long term. Any team with cap space would take him at that price.

Montreal would definitely match.

I'd pay 4.5 for Subban without blinking.

Westgarth dealt. He was a big part of the PA negotiating group wonder if that had anything to do with it?

38 and 36 pt years tells me he's not worth that type of money, especially when we have Justin Schultz who arguably would play the same role, only he will probably be better at it.

Here's a few dmen all with a current cap hit of between $4-4.5 million:
(source- capgeek)

Garrison, Jason
Hainsey, Ron
Komisarek, Mike
Hamhuis, Dan
Pitkanen, Joni
Tyutin, Fedor
Coburn, Braydon
Johnson, Jack
Volchenkov, Anton
Kaberle, Tomas
Ballard, Keith
Jovanovski, Ed
Streit, Mark
Regehr, Robyn
Giordano, Mark
Gilbert, Tom
Whitney, Ryan
Meszaros, Andrej
Zidlicky, Marek
Michalek, Zbynek
Ehrhoff, Christian

Anyone who thinks Subban wouldn't be worth the same cap hit/salary as some of those names up above would be mistaken.

How many players on that list above would teams choose over Subban if given the choice?

That puts him in the top 30 for Dmen scoring in the entire NHL. Not to mention he plays big minutes in all situations, hits a lot, and is still very young and was a +9 on one of the worst teams in the league.
