Those are incredibly impressive numbers for a defenceman. Scarlett shows a lot of promise.

Faust is really looking like a wasted pick, I mean 32 games and not even one assist? Thats's just terrible.

he's improved drastically from last season, he's so confident on the ice that he will shoot the puck from everywhere and still find the back of the net, really a treat to watch, I'm lucky to be a Sting/Devils fan

Not looking good, but I'll admit that my armchair GM picks (Troy Rutkowski/Austin Madaisky) haven't fared much better. Once I complete my flux capacitor, I'll try to go back and convince Conte to take Petr Mrazek.

Who is Reid Boucher?
It's a question that even the most hardcore New Jersey Devils fan might be asking these days. Not for long.

The 19-year-old forward, taken with the Devils' fourth-round pick in 2011, is in the midst of a breakout season with the OHL's Sarnia Sting. In just his second year in juniors following a two-year stint with Team USA, the East Lansing, Mich. native is on the verge of breaking Sarnia's goal-scoring record, held by current Tampa Bay Lightning standout Steven Stamkos.

"He was the best goal scorer in the NHL last year, and he set a record here and I have a chance to break it," said Boucher, who is one goal behind Stamkos with 57 through his first 61 games.

"That would be a pretty big accomplishment for me, so I just hope I can do it."

But the question still remains: Who is Reid Boucher? Ask him, and you'll like the answers you get.

"I'm a goal scorer," he said. "I like to have a little grit to my game. I'm not really a fighter or anything like that, but I'm willing to play in some traffic. I like the physicality of the game. I just try to do whatever I can to help the team."

The obvious question would then be when he'll bringing all that to New Jersey. That answer wasn't so bad either.

"Whenever I can," he said through a laugh. "Whenever they'll take me. Hopefully, it's sooner than later."

Boucher got a taste of the pro life at the end of last season, when he joined the AHL's Albany Devils on an amateur tryout agreement and played in the final game of the year. He said that it was an eye-opening experience, and perhaps one that led him to lose weight and add muscle in the offseason to improve his conditioning after seeing the way the pros handle their business.

Combine that one game with the season he's having, and Boucher says it's been "really hard" to not start thinking about wearing the red, white and black in Newark one day.

"You play to get to the next level, so that's what you play for, is to try to make it to the NHL," he said. "I think that's everybody's dream who plays hockey. I hope I get that opportunity someday."
Sounds good. Really like the way he really made an effort to become a better player during the offseason.

Another article. This one praising Severson

http://www.yorktonthisweek.com/artic...ads-in-kelowna

Quote:
Yorkton Harvest alumni Damon Severson has blossomed into an elite two-way defenceman with the Kelowna Rockets in the Western Hockey League.

The 6-foot-2, 198-pounder has taken huge strides in his game in his third season with the Rockets this year, racking up eight goals, 44 points, and 64 penalty minutes throughout 60 contests.

“My confidence is up right now,” says Severson, who was drafted 60th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 NHL entry draft. “I’m not rushing plays and have some patience with the puck. My teammates also have made things easier for me. They have been playing great and finishing a lot of plays.”

“We are really happy with how Damon has panned out,” adds Kelowna general manager Bruce Hamilton. “He makes an impact at both ends of the ice and has been one of our best players.”
Quote:
Severson’s uncanny success has somewhat been a surprise. Neither the 18 year old nor the Rockets could have predicted his steep development arc after Kelowna drafted him 192nd overall in the 2009 WHL bantam draft.

“Back when I was drafted, I didn’t really know what to expect,” says Severson. “I just knew I had to work hard to get anywhere in hockey. And that is what I’ve done. But I couldn’t have expected to be a second-round pick and putting the points up that I am with the Rockets.”

“With your late-round picks in the draft, it is hard to tell where they’ll go in hockey. We got a steal in Damon,” notes Hamilton.
Quote:
Knowing it will be tough to make the Devils as a 19 year old, Severson has his sights set on suiting up for Team Canada in the world junior championship if returns to Kelowna for a fourth season.

A big goal is to make Team Canada if I’m not in the NHL,” says Severson. “It would be a dream come true. So if I’m in Kelowna, I’m going to work hard to get off to a good start and try to get Hockey Canada to notice me.”
More quotes in the article.

Annnnnnnnnnndd another one. Seth Helgeson this time.

http://www.mndaily.com/2013/02/28/lo...etly-blue-line

Quote:
But Helgeson leads the Gophers in two statistical categories this season: penalties (24) and penalty minutes (56).

A lot of those penalties were roughing minors he got while using his 6-foot-4-inch, 215-pound frame to defend his smaller teammates.

“Honestly, I dare anyone to throw a cheap shot on me, and [Helgeson] will be right there,” sophomore defenseman Ben Marshall said.
Quote:
A lot of fans may not notice Helgeson much on the ice, but head coach Don Lucia says that may be a good thing.

“He’s just a guy that’s kind of an anchor back there and does his job quietly,” Lucia said. “He’s not the type of player that’s going to get a lot of notoriety because of the way he plays.

“For Seth, when you don’t notice him, that’s when he’s at his best.”

Nice articles, thanks a lot.

6 games left for Boucher to tie the record.
London was a tough one, 3 assists is not that bad.

No we need to draft Drouin and create the most dangerous combination the world has ever seen.
