Baillie is making his mark on the draft scene early. Good head start for the kid

I wonder how many minutes Severson played.

I'll keep on eye on this Baillie kid as well.

Matteau added another assist as the Armada win 10-1. Kitchener and Owen Sound both lost 4-1. Neither Gavrus or Thomson had any points.

Nice to see him stepping up in the clutch. That's the kind of playoff experience we want him to have.

Kelowna was eliminated last night. Severson added an assist so he finished the playoffs with 1 goal and 9 assists in 11 games.

Including the playoffs Severson had 52 pts in his last 57 games.

Sounds like this Severson kid could be a good one? Any current players he's comparable to?

Excellent post by an earlier fan comparing Severson to this years 1st overall draft pick candidate Seth Jones. Think about this. Severson is only 2 months younger than Seth Jones. It seems that according to the stats we are getting a "poor man's" Seth Jones.

Damon Severson Born Aug 7 1994

2012-13 Kelowna Rockets WHL 71 10 42 52 74 43

Seth Jones Born Oct 3 1994

Portland Winterhawks WHL 61 14 42 56 33 46

I haven't seen him play, but I've heard his style of play is comparable to Duncan Keith. Not necessarily talent level, but style.

I've heard Keith and Weber.

He's got the mix of both. He's got the size and aggressiveness that some can translate to Webers game, while other people see his smoother skating and all-around game like Keith.

Kid is going to be a hell of a player. Only reason he dropped so far was because the D pool last year was stacked. The Devils scouts said that in any other draft, he would've likely been late first round, early second round.

I remember reading a comparison of Brent Seabrook, but I maybe mixing that up with one of the other D prospects we have.

Supposedly he was very identical to Weber's scouting report last year.

I've only seen a few games with him, and I didn't see the Weber comparison at all. He floats more like a Paul Martin. Sees the ice well, smooth skater, makes nice passes, nice hands, lots of patience. I didn't see any ruggedness in the games I watched, but he does have a decent amount of PIMs (although it is the WHL), so maybe I just missed that side.

The penatly is here about 38 seconds into the video. Looks like someone skates by and pokes him with their stick and he retaliates. Dumb penalty but I don't see why he should have been benched for it.

Also according to this tweet Matteau returned to BLB on the fan supporters bus not with the team.

I still and will never understand why Lou chose to keep that pick.

What hurts is that there is a decent chance we will be in the lottery again next year and we will have to give it up.

Maybe when your team loses a playoff game because of one of his numerous dumb penalties, you'll understand.
