Col - Tor

To Toronto:
ROR
1st, 3rd

To Colorado:
P. Kessel

Why?

Colorado has 3 excellent C's, and needs a winger to play with them. Kessel is an elite sniper.
Leafs need help down the middle.

Similar to what Carter got.

Hejduk - ROR/Stastny - Kessel
Landeskog - Duchene - Jones

Looks good.

That is just brutal for the Avs

Edit: Nice ninja edit. That is better than Lupul and Gunnar for Stastny. But the 1st would probably kill the deal. I love though how you trade Kessel, then say you need ROR to play with Kessel and slot him into the lineup.

No thx from this Avs fan, we wont be trading any of our C's unless its for a Dman, were fine on the wing.

Quite an easy pass from the Leafs standpoint.

If Colorado did want Kessel, MattyD would be the guy that they'd have to part with.

That's pretty good. Toronto gets a young 2nd line C who is a great all-around player plus a couple picks, and Colorado gets the elite offensive force they've been lacking for awhile.

You honestly think you could get him for free if he does not come back from Russia? Cute.

If Toronto is willing to give up Kessel a 1C would be coming in return.

Why would Toronto say yes? They are giving up the best player in the deal for someone who has never played 1C but they would hope could maybe do okay at it. Sounds like a dumb move to start a new regime.

I will bet you that Kessel is re-signed by the start of next season. Actually i can almost guarantee it. The fact that he has a girlfriend here, well respected by the city, the fanbase and management hes in paradise in comparison to what he had in Boston. Go back 4 years and read the reports, Kessel wasnt well like by coaching or management, the media ridiculed and turned against him, he wasnt important in the eyes of the fans, and was a complete and utter loner. There was a reason why Kessel wanted out of Boston, and in return got everything he was looking for in Toronto. There is a very good chance he stays here.

You speak as if any of this stuff is even remotely relevant when it comes to whether Kessel will be traded. And you can guarantee about as much as the fans who said the same about Parise.

Should we trade him? Simple answer - if the return fills a greater need, either now or with excellent future considerations, then yes, we trade him.
