Anyone have a video of Ovechkin's dive from last night?

Seeing the Flyers fans ***** about the refs (Albeit is warranted in some cases) is hilarious nonetheless.

There were some pretty bad calls that went against the Flyers.....

Not losing sleep over it though

I want them to go 0-48 and lose the lottery.

There is nothing that I love more than furious conspiracy theories being spouted off by Flyer fans.

To be fair, they have a legitimate gripe on the goal that would have made it 4-3...but every single team has a goal like that called back at least twice a season.

I want them to go 0-5 to start the season, panic and trade their 1st for a goalie, and then go 0-43 the rest of the season.

Finishing dead last would still give them one of MacKinnon or Jones.

Shrimper, when it comes to the Flyers, justification in no way detracts from or otherwise diminishes the hilarity.

Yes, yes. Good point.

Hartnell will begin stress eating and develop a weeble wobble physique, thus robbing the fans of even their precious Hartnelldown.

NHL network is a joke. They had Crosby as a minus 3 in a 3-1 game yesterday. Rangers are favored today b/c Pens played yesterday even though the Rangers played last night.

Amazing what the promise of big money does for a punk's attitude. He'll probably have a good year. Let's see if he keeps it up after getting a big pot of gold. He strikes me as exactly the kind of player who has a disappointing season after a big contract signing. Watch them win the Cup, he gets a big contract and reports to camp looking like Dustin Byfuglien in September.

Indeed. The only potential subtraction from the "competitive team" column this year looks like Detroit. While it's just one game, their lack of offensive depth was pretty obvious. Defensive too. I've heard people commenting they look like a team with a true #1 D, then "the next best guy looks like a 4". They have a few more games like last night and I could see them go into Seth Jones mode and do the rebuild this summer, signing a bunch of FA.

If they rebuild I don't expect it to be in the mold of STL or Pittsburgh. They're going to get a lottery pick and then rebuild a team with a bunch of 25-30 year olds. Other than Datsyuk the traditional core of that team is now officially gone with Lidstrom and Holmstrom no longer playing; they are a shell of a team compared to who we played in the Finals those two years.

But even if the whistle didn't blow, it never crossed the line...

It did, but well after the fact.

That puck was sitting right on the goal line for a good 3 seconds after the whistle blew.

Just watched the Stars highlights and Jagr looked REALLY good. Very happy to have him out of Philadelphia.

A shortened season is a perfect opportunity for Jagr to use his unmatched skills and hockey IQ to make up for what he has lost in the legs. He looked like a beast.

Reading through the Canes GDT thread from yesterday. Once you skip the first page or two of pre-game gibberish and get into the game comments it's a classic read read in spots. The Corvo hate makes it all worthwhile. Busted out laughing a couple times at some of the back-and-forth. Also funny reading them pummel Florida's attendance and arena routines. Florida is such a lousy market even fans in N. Carolina make fun of them. All the better that they got shellacked because it clearly inspired their prose.

how could you forget the all too casual misogyny vis-à-vis their new female sportscaster? i've forgotten how much pleasure you can get from other teams' GDTs.

Calgary dominated San Jose first period. Only 1-0 somehow.

Some surprising teams thus far. I know it's two games, but...
