You can't start suspended guys for missing hits. Sorry.

It's 1 game but I hope this is a sign Detroit will be average to bad for some time.

Are the Blues this good or is Detroit this bad?

Combo of both, but more on the side of Detroit is just this bad.

Detroit has allowed three break away goals including one on the PP so there is that.

Bulls went to OT for the third straight game. Trying to decide what to watch after they hopefully win again.

Should I just watch Ducks/'Nucks?

Don't see why not unless something changes quickly. Hoping the Avs can pot one soon to make that game a little closer.

Jeremy Rutherford ‏@jprutherford
#stlblues beat #redwings 6-0 in season opener. It's the 1st shutout in club history. As colleague @miklasz points out, 6-0 in honor of Stan.
No way in hell. Has to be an error.

Yes you should! But unfortunately it's 2-1 Nucks.

On another note Kovalev, Jagr, Whitney all had points tonite. Good thing Bowman didn't take a flyer on those guys, lets save that money now. No point in competing or anything.

Jagr had 4 points and looked like a wizard out there.

I think he has to.

Considering Halak alone had 6 shutouts last season.

I know. The hawks looked terrible in their 5-2 win against the defending cup champs with no one older than 34.

Let's see how those old guys hold up after 48 games in 99 days, not to mention the playoffs. Jagr's stats took a dive towards the end of the season last year.

that's not right. it's not the first time detroit got shut out...and it's not the first time st. louis has shut someone out. both events happened as recently as last season.

Kinda new I'd get ripped for saying that, if you're expecting Frolik, Kruger, Bickell etc to carry the load that the guys mentioned could have you're dreaming. I'd love for them to do it but let's face it's just not happening.

Schneider getting pulled after allowing 5 goals.

Goalie problems in Vancouver, defensive problems in Detroit, Blue Jacket problems in Nashville. And the Hawks won.

I'm loving the NHL today.

Luongo is valuable to that team. What makes it awesome is that it is costly to them financially and to their long-term plans.

Ah, got to love ESPN.

Look at the standings. Nashville and Columbus each have played a game and each have 0 points.

Well, I don't know what your thoughts on FA were last summer. I would've liked to sign one of the guys mentioned above, but it didn't happen.

I'm just basing everything off of the new season that started today. No point in fretting about what could have happened. I am just going to enjoy what we got. And we got a lot of young guys that can eat up bottom 6 mins. And a great top 4 forward group.

I'm not expecting Frolik or Kruger or Stalberg to carry the load per se, but I think developing those younger players will be better in the long run than signing a 38 year old for one cup run. We have enough firepower with kane, toews, sharp, and hossa. I feel that we are still more of a contender than florida or dallas.
