Sure was. Now he has a 2nd round grade on him. He's a ball-hawk.

Kovacevic has a real obsession for the Navy seal training; he wrote an article for BA about it: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today...2/2614542.html

Look, based on a lot of anecdotal evidence, I think Kyle Stark is a real pissant, weasel of a man. But this Hoka Hey stuff is one of the biggest beat ups I've seen in a long time.

It was written up again today in BA in an article that was supposed to be an introductory piece for the top ten prospects. It just keeps getting flogged to death.

I was furious about it when news of it came up...but it really is getting sensationalized more than it should.

Stark definitely seems like a pissant, though. Hard to feel sorry for him.

Agreed, but I also don't feel bad for DK, who is pretty much agreed upon as a terrible hack who was once something decent. In a way, him promoting this nonsense to death is just peas in a pod.

As for consequential baseball stuff, I hope Liriano will be signed, and like him more than Marcum. Marcum would be an ok addition, but with the addition of Karstens, I really hope the Saunders talk goes away.

Maurkice Pouncey made the All-Pro second team. with three selections in three years (1 First Team and 2 Second Team) he can probably half-ass the rest of his career and still have a decent shot at the HOF.

I still love that draft pick. I know some claim the kid is overrated but even if he isn't the best center in the league, he's at worst one of the best centers in the league and will lock down that center spot for at least the better part of another decade. That's hitting a home run when it comes to drafting.

Pouncey was also instant impact which I'd like to see more of out of our future 1st rounders. I don't like this rotting on the bench for a few years routine that the Steelers have lately. Although it did work out with Timmons and probably will with Heyward despite it taking a few years for them to crack the lineup.

God damnit I loved watching Oregon play

I know they will probably still run basically the same O but who knows. I know the lure of going to the NFL.. man he had everything in Eugene though. Maybe the violations will surface and thats why?

Looks like Colbert is expecting to shake things up on the Steelers.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...hake-up-roster

Quote:
Colbert had few positive things to say about a team that finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2009. He was asked if the Steelers would consider using the franchise tag on an unrestricted free agent.

"Very doubtful," Colbert told Steelers Digest. "When you're 8-8, don't think we have too many franchise players."
Quote:
"If we don't change a roster that produced 8-8, we'd be silly to expect a better result," Colbert said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Hopefully the Steelers are watching how the playoff teams are playing and they aren't going to stick to the same outdated philosophies next season.

Timmons and Heath had solid seasons (only players other than Pouncey to receive any votes) . here's the All-Pro voting breakdown at their positions:

Tight ends: Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta, 24; Jason Witten, Dallas, 19; Rob Gronkowski, New England, 4; Jimmy Graham, New Orleans, 2; Heath Miller, Pittsburgh, 1.

Inside linebackers: Patrick Willis, San Francisco, 30; NaVorro Bowman, San Francisco, 26; Daryl Washington, Arizona, 20; London Fletcher, Washington, 7; Luke Kuechly, Carolina, 5; Jerod Mayo, New England, 4; Lawrence Timmons, Pittsburgh, 3; Derrick Johnson, Kansas City, 2; Lance Briggs, Chicago, 1; Bobby Wagner, Seattle, 1.

Lance Briggs at ILB? wtf?

If true.

I'm told Notre Dame will have an official comment on the Deadspin Manti Te'o story shortly.
Pens' Practice Scrimmage and Notre Dame responding to a scandal - it's going to be an exciting night

ND statement confirms Deadspin's report that "Lennay Kekua" never existed, but says Manti Te'o was duped.

I've felt the same as you my friend. This report is crazy and hilarious, I'm loving this.

All of that said I'd still think about Te'o in the second round. If he wasn't ND's best player this year that's about where he would have rated out I think.

That didn't take long to get hacked.
Or maybe it was Te'o.

That's pretty messed up. I have to wonder about his parents. They had to know about this.

Te'o story is just insane. How could this not be exposed sooner in this day and age of information-gathering ability? It's unreal and reads like a plot twist. Nobody checked up on any of this? Did everyone in the media just say "**** it, it's been reported and must be true, no reason to try to actual fact-check it"? That it happened to a highly publicized individual and no one caught on immediately is just crazy. One of the most stunning things I've read recently.

I turns out that Manti Te'o was actually dead and living in a rural area outside of Philadlephia the entire time. Also he's allergic to water.

Only George Costanza could pull this off, and get caught.
