It was either Steve Lepore from SBNation or SportsMediaWatch. Can't remember.

Was a great game indeed...hope it goes 7...

would be a great story if Isle win...

Those probably were to have been Cup Final dates that NBC had already planned for before the lockout. Game 1 last year was on May 30th, so June 1st certainly was. May 25th seems to be a bit early, but either way, their season for new programming is already over, so they just figure they might as well show a game they're already paying to produce on the main channel instead of a rerun of something.

The Warriors got a 12.6 in local ratings on Monday nights Warriors/Spurs? WOW. Wonder if locally there will be a dropoff with Game 2 after the Game 1 choke job.

As to Sharks, getting a local rating in the 3's is pretty good for round 1 games. Gotta think that will tick up as the Sharks progress. If the Sharks were to draw Kings or Blackhawks (or Detroit) in Round 2, I think the ratings will be good for the Sharks. Probably in the 3-4 range for the series.

I think if it were Sharks vs. Blues, even though it would round 2, would not be good to begin with, but if the Sharks do well, tick up as the series progresses (like the series vs. Nucks).

Unless the Blackhawks (or potentially Wings) are in the WCF, this is almost surely guaranteed to be an ECF game, right?

This is post # 789 of this thread.. this is great because in last yr's Tv Ratings thread, it got a total of only 959 posts in 9 months. Whereas this thread of 2013 already has 789 posts in only 4 months.. unreal.. We're on pace for 1775 posts. and that's without 2 key posters in CanadaIsHockey and Lady Stanley, who were posting alot last yr. So we are playing injured to boot...We are missing 2 key players in the lineup.. great job boys. thanks for always posting those #'s.. keep it up.. i love this thread.

BTW azkals or IU.. it's rare i ever ask for a rating, but pls, just give me the L.A or STL or both tv rating of either gm 3 or gm4. that's all i ask.

thanks.

Keep posting boys. lets demolish last yr's record.

Also, the huge May Sweeps period is over on May 22, so the games will fall during the Summer TV Season.

Pretty good, that's 200K I think.

Isles seem to have half of that

Wow, amazing just how small Buffalo is.

As for San Jose, are they really considered a Bay area team like being in San Francisco or Oakland?

MOD

NHL US viewership is in reality stuck at about 3 million households and of that number you have about 1 million who will watch no matter who is playing.

40 years ago CBS which had the NHL contract proposed a deal where the NHL would continue in traditional markets but would feed southern affiliates NASCAR. The NHL declined and went to NBC and after 1975 the sport vanished from network TV.

It is what it is......

.@CSNChicago posted a "10" Chicago mkrt household TV rtg for its #Blackhawks finale last night (348K hms tuning in for entire length of gm)

https://twitter.com/JeffNuich

Wow, a 10.0!!! Lets see DRose and the bulls pull off a 10 for the 1st round! I wonder if Chicago is now officially a hockey town or just a bandwagon town? i really have no idea. Can any chicagoan pls tell me. i am dying to know. Is this just a phase in chicago cause they are doing so well the last few yrs, or has chicago become a hockey town?? I hope the latter. Like if the hawks have an avg season next yr, will they still watch hockey with big #'s in CHI?

There hasn't been 1 rating yet on STL or LA for gm 3, 4 or 5.. IU, can you pls post just 1 of them. either for gm 3, 4 or 5, Gm 5 preferably.... I just want to get an idea on both cities interest in this series. thanks.
