I did receive an email about $49.99 for Gamecenter Live. I'm going to cancel. I'll let everybody know if they offer any incentives to stay, but I don't expect an attempt will be made.

This call is taking a LONG time. I guess there are a lot of people cancelling.

No attempt was made to keep me. They wouldn't say if a lot of people are doing it, but a heavy call volume combined with how quickly he walked through the script makes me think I'm not the only one who has called about it today.

The iN Demand price is $49.99, per their website today. Free preview from January 19 - January 31.

They were never going to charge a full season price for a 48 game season.

$50 for the 99 day season equals out to just over 50 cents a day.
$159 for the typical 6 month (so let's say 180 days) season is 88 cents a day.

If you were only watching your own team's games, it's $1.04 per game (assuming you watched every game on Center Ice, your team had no nat'l games, etc).
Previously it was $1.93 per game.

Big discount this year, indeed.

Definitely, but not going to pay them anything. Way too many reports of fans being excited about the few bones thrown out after all this. I came back easily after previous lockouts. Cancelling was just one way of expressing my displeasure with the situation.

A pretty good price, but a far cry from what the OP said, that Bell and other Canadian providers have already signed off on free Center Ice. Yeah, I don't think anybody ever truly believed it, but it makes me wonder what concrete info the OP had that made him so certain that all of this was going to be for free (just curious, not trying to be a dick about it).

Let's see, Gamecenter live blacks out the local games, National games, NHL Network games, and it's 50 bucks for a shortaned season where they have already pissed off the fans?

I just talked to customer support and they are not changing the blackout rules. That's the deal breaker for me. No quality match ups because they are all on Nationally anyway, no matter if you get NHL Network or not. Screw them and "trying to appease the fans".

****, so sounds like Verizon Fios won't be having free Center Ice. Wonder if I could try calling and complaining..usually works.

The info I had last week was accurate at the time but the NHL ran into issues with DirecTV, Bell and Shaw over pricing for commercial accounts.

The NHL only gets half of the revenue ( the cable, dish operator ) gets the other half.

It should be noted that the NHL has yet to email customers from last year so it appears they are tweaking a little more.

$50 for the season for CI. Not terrible. Half the games, but only about 1/3 the normal price.

http://www.indemand.com/sports/nhl/

It's In Demand's fee, not the carrier's. This is all anyone should pay. What's that $1.04 per game? If anyone's charging you more than that, you're getting scammed.

1) Looks like it'll be $50 on cable and $60 on satellite. So $50.

2) Yes, Gamecenter Live is the online package.

Just got off of chat with Bell and the price will be $50.48 (2 payments of $25.24) for the shortened season.

Looks like Shaw has no clue what the price will be yet for NHL Centre Ice.

Does look like a Free Preview will be in place until the end of January.

Does anyone know if Center Ice blacks out any games that are shown on your local sports channel?

Say I have MSG for Rangers, would Center Ice black out all Rangers Games in my area?

Thanks

What about NHL network games? If NHL network shows Rangers, does MSG black it out then?
