So...they aren't free, they're just included in a package you paid the cable money, in money, for.

Most people have basic cable(the min. package required to watch tv)...

people can afford $34.90 per month(basic package with 45 SD channels plus 20 HD channels)...atleast i hope...

I don't see how. CBC over the air is a disaster where I live, and TSN requires cable, which I haven't bothered to subscribing to for a decade plus, and last I checked is free exactly nowhere...

If it ain't streamin' I ain't watching...

In other words, not free at all. "Basic cable" is not free. Free would mean you don't write a check or process a payment EVER.

By free I'm assuming you mean basic cable? If so, that's news to me. I have to pay for TSN 2 and I'd be an idiot to considering how ***** that channel is.

Can anyone comment on the quality of the feed on GCL. Is it HD most of the time?

In my experience, it was always HD (in so much as anything streaming can resemble HD).

In Canada at least you can get NFL Sunday Ticket on cable - in the US it is DirecTV only.

On my Comcast system I get NHL, NFL ,NBA and MLB but I had to add the sports tier for $7 a month.

NHL-US shows a lot of TSN and Rogers games during the season and I am guessing NHL-Canada is showing some of the NBCSN games.

I prefer Game Center over Center Ice because of the 'vault' - you can look back at any game played, and then I also have the option of watching on my phone at no extra charge.

GC does deliver HD and using a ROKU box the picture is decent on my TV.

If you have a webbrowser that supports Flash, it should work. I run linux at home. It's not officially listed as supported. When I emailed Gamecenter Live last year, a tech guy replied saying he watched it on his linux laptop. I subscribed and it worked for me. When I subscribed there was an option to revoke the subscription in the first few days. If my system didn't work, I could have revoked the subscription.

In Quebec, we get screwed even more, with Basic Cable deal we get SD TSN and HD RDS for free, but since RDS is pure crap of a channel, I need to pay 2,99$ to get TSN/TSN2 in HD, which is not bad of a deal.

Anywhere with a comprehensive listing of how companies are pricing Center Ice? I use a provider called Brighthouse down here in FL and if it's $50 I'm jumping all over it! Only be $25 to boot, roommate would split it with me!

The BBB is a scam to extort money from business owners. It is not a government agency, or impartial in any way.

Here in Ottawa we get screwed because Ottawa is considered a Habs blackout area. So when the Penguins play Montreal, it's not available on CI, only on RDS.

And I don't speak French!
