I wonder if he's in game shape right now. Did not see and video of him so hard to tell if he hit the Twinkies hard this summer or not.

There's something to be said for competent coaching.
We really saw what Carlyle could do last year. He was terrible. Granted he took over late in the season, but the Leafs played the worst I've seen under Carlyle.

His on pace for fell to 22 goals after Carlyle came in.

He won't be the same under Randy as he was under Ron.

It really makes no sense to me why people need more than 15-20 games to evaluate a coach.

people are writing kessel off since randy came in
randy even said in post season news conference "alot of poeple think me and phil would not get along"
kessel will be fine IMO
plus, wilson liked to roll 4 lines, carlyle will use kessel more than ron, randy gives like 5 minutes to the 4th line throughout the game
the 2nd and third lines are about evenly split
I would not be surprised if phil plays even better under randy's style
pumped for the season
go leafs go

Who cares.....it is a team game and that is what he will be told by Carlyle.....Carlyle has always allowed his thoroughbreds to run and insists that his plow horse to plow.

I know people may think I'm being optimistic, but honestly, I think he'll have an even better year this year over last. For a full season, I'd guess 45-50 goals, 95 pts. I might be the lone voter for it, but I say 50+ pts.

Could be just the hockey returning though, ha ha.
I agree with this. I think Kessel is still a rising star. I think in a short season he will contend for hardware, like the Richard trophy.

I expect 50+ pts. ~35 goals.

2009-2010: (70GM - 30g,25a) = Goal every 2.3 games / Assist every 2.8 games
2010-2011: (82GM - 32g,32a) = Goal every 2.6 games / Assist every 2.6 games
2011-2012: (82GM - 37g,45a) = Goal every 2.2 games / Assist every 1.8 games

Averaged roughly a goal every 2.4 games played in that span.
Averaged roughly an assist every 2.4 games played in that span.

48/2.4=20

Therefore, he should hit atleast 20 goals and 20 assists in a 48 game schedule.

Edit: My prediction? 23 goals and 27 helpers.

No way. New coach. His numbers tale a slight reduction. ;
Around 40 points would be my guess. Maybe 15-20 goals. If any one gets 20 g it will be a huge accomplishment.
