A sugesstion to move this thing along: after making a pick the GM messages the GM on deck that he is up. Yandle is copied when the PM is sent, and the 5-hour limit will be much easier to enforce.

Hayden is a limited viewing player, but apparently has a ton of potential upside, and at about 6'2 220 is another big body for the Jets to go along with Alex Barkov and Tyler Hill. i just couldn't take a chance on waiting too long like i did with Juuso Ikonen and miss out. i also waited too long and lost out on JC Lupon.

One thing you can't teach somebody in Hockey is size. Which is one of the factors which lead to the Blues getting defensmen 6'7 Samuel Morin and 6'6 Wiley Sherman.

Don't blame you for taking him early. Hayden has some of the skills to make it to the NHL , he just needs some time to improve on the rest. I view him more of a power forward. I've seen some mock drafts have him as low as 5th round ,but I view him more as mid 3rd to early 4th.

Anybody got any info on Nick Baptiste? I don't know much about him.

From OHL prospects
Quote:
Nicholas Baptiste - Sudbury Wolves
He was nearly universally seen on top 10 draft lists for the league prior to the start of the season. The former 6th overall priority selection teased us last year with the potential to take over games physically and offensively. But this season did not start well for him. Little improvements were shown in his game and he started with a single goal in the first 15 games. This caused him to plummet on draft lists, to the point where he didn't even crack NHL Central Scouting's preliminary top 25. But look out, he's averaging a point per game over his last 10 (4 goals, 6 assists), is getting more powerplay time and is using his size more effectively offensively. If this sort of output continues (key word is consistency), he'll find himself rocketing back up draft lists by June.

5 hours have passed for pick #66 Montreal. I'd say #67 Detroit can pick now.

I'm really disappointed that people aren't staying on top of this. It doesn't feel like a real draft skipping people as often as we do. I don't see any other choice though...Thirded.

Agreed. I had a feeling that this would end up happening though as I remember it from last year.. I dont understand why people sign up for these things if they aren't going to stick around and finish.. If they know they're ducking out at the end of the 2nd, trade the later picks to us.. that way we wont get stuck waiting for nothing!!

^Carolina needs a 3rd round pick and is willing to trade #128 #158 and #188 to get one

Winnipeg is offering picks #93, #123, #153, #183 for an extra 3rd rounder. PM if interested in either or both.

If the game is dead or when it does die from inactivity, we should each post a list or pm a list to each other of who we were going to pick. I think it would be interesting to see how it would have played out.

Okay, the person who has Detroit hasnt been on since yesterday.... I vote we forfeit the pick. I also vote that from now on, everytime someone misses a pick, it's forfeited.. I see no point in potentially screwing up OUR drafts because someone decides not to show up..

I've PMd Yandle asking that he dump the GMs who aren't showing and give the reliable GMs 3 teams if necessary. Just a suggestion. Not sure if 3 teams is too many. But this draft already has one foot in the grave. I'd hate to see it die.

EDIT: Yandle wants us to put a list together of the dead teams. We start with Detroit, yes?
