Would anyone be interested in an All Time Draft?

This year's NHL All Time Draft is set to kick off soon, and has been running pretty regularly each year with some great work and research done.

What is the possibility of such a draft being replicated in the Baseball forum?

12 team draft

1B, 2B, SS, 3B, C, 3xSP, 2xRP, LF, CF, RF, Manager.

Can be tweaked or expanded, this is just a thought.

Who'd be up for it?

Here's who:

Modo - Brooklyn Dodgers
Porn* - Toronto Blue Jays
KH1 - Newark Eagles
MurrayBannerman - Chicago Cubs
bluesfan94 - St. Louis Browns
Gootie - Milwaukee Braves
darko - New York Yankees
iRep TheWingedWheel - St. Louis Cardinals
JaysCyYoung - Montreal Expos
Thekidline - Chicago White Sox
HalbertGil - Detroit Tigers
Fish on The Sand - Cleveland Indians
DisgruntledHawksFan - Kane County Cougars
Clarkson Falls Down - New York Giants
Tommy Barrasso - Houston Astros
Pwnasaurus - Pittsburgh Crawfords
chaosrevolver - Chicago White Stockings
Shoeless Joe - Worcester Worcesters
papershoes - Cincinnati Reds
UL Washington - Brooklyn Superbas

Depending on the amount of users interested, you can create any team name you want.

We can have six divisions, with five teams in each, followed by playoffs. Again, number of spots on your team can be up for debate. Maybe one starting pitcher isn't enough for a roster of this magnitude?

I'm game.

But 30 teams might be a bit much.

Alright, what would be a good start, then? Is 20 pushing it?

Also, how can we determine a winner?

I think the guys who ran the previous baseball ATDs could help.

^Definitely, wouldn't mind that one bit.

Had no intention of running this on my own.

Who used to run these?

Chaosrevolver did.

I participated in the last two ATD and they were a blast. I attached chaos' post at the bottom with his rules and formats. What I remember us doing was voting on the rosters in order from best to worst for the "regular season" standings, then going head to head in the playoffs based on that.

It's up to you, but the rosters were full rosters, 5SP, full bullpen, bench, etc.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I know Pwnasaurus was gauging interest in another ATD a few days ago too. He's a veteran of the drafts I believe so he'll probably know a lot more than I do.

^Thanks!

Yeah I figured 1 SP wouldn't be enough, we could definitely expand there, as well as more closers.

Good to see this is garnering some interest, hopefully we can get all the details ironed out over the next few days as more people see this thread!

We wont get 30 people but anywhere between 10 and 15 would be good.

I'd definitely be interested as well. I suppose I'll take the Montreal Expos if that's acceptable.

Not sure if I will be participating but glad to see someone starting one up. Was really disappointed that I didn't have the time to get one up in the summer.

I can certainly help you out with ironing details out. Just not sure my school schedule will allow me the needed time for this.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, chaos!

And you're still more than welcome to grab a team!
