The roster size from last time is the way to go. There's more teams now so the draft will take longer, but 5 starters and the bullpen simulates it better.

I'd like for everyone to make the playoffs so that each mgr is at least involved actively through the early round(s) of the playoffs.

In the past, every team made the playoffs, vote on regular season finish which becomes playoff seeding and then vote on playoff wins.

If a mgr goes through the process of drafting, they deserve a chance to win the whole thing.

My suggestion would be to do a legit pitching roster with 5 sp and 6 or 7 rp. The offseason still has a ways to go and its not like you need to finish the draft too quickly. Plus many more interesting players. If people feel this is too much than thats fine.

You could do a bye type of thing.

Yeah I was thinking of the best way to do that.

In terms of rosters, everyone just take a look at the past draft thread linked in this thread, we'll use the same format, 25 players, 8 positions, 5 SPs, 6 bullpen, 6 bench.

As suggested via message to me by UL Washington and the thought had occurred to me as well, if we go with 18, we set up 2 leagues of 9 each. The 8th and 9th seeds in each league have a play-in game. The winner of those 2 games becomes the 8th seed and we proceed with a standard 16 team (8 in each league) playoff format.

^ Agreed completely. Excellent to see so much interest. The draft was getting sorta old for me when it was around 10 teams.

Questions:
Are we finalizing it at 18 teams?
Are we allowing trading of picks?
What's the timeline like?
How are we doing draft order?
What type of draft?

- I'd like to hold it at 18 but if someone really wants to join, I don't want to say no, however, I'll say we close it by Thur night. Friday morning I'll create the draft thread and Monday morning the first team can pick.

- Yes trading is allowed as long as it is 1-1, 2-2, etc

- I'll create the thread Friday morning, Monday morning the first team can pick, all rules will be explained in the draft thread or you can check out the link to the previous one Clarkson posted in this thread. Everything will be the same.

- I assign everyone an integer based upon the list of participants Modo had started then I use random.org to create a random integer sequence.

- Snake draft

The draft thread is available from last time, check it out, it should answer most questions.

shoot - totally missed the sign-up.

I've participated in the last couple of these and, if there is still space, would love to grab a team. However, if me joining throws a monkey-wrench in the team numbers, I can sit it out.

Cincinnati Reds if possible

Let me see if UL Washington wants to take his own team to make it an even 20.

Fish on the Sand and Clarkson let me know which teams you want as well. I'll create the main thread soon. We can still start the clock Monday, I suspect UL will take his own team and we can run with 20.

Confirmed. We have 20 now. I'll cap it here. Look for the thread which will have the draft order and we'll start the clock on Monday.
