Cole's Plus/Minus: Game 5 - The one where the Pens dominate

Plus

+ Battle Level: That Pens team out there looks VERY dangerous. They came out in this game with a purpose and it was a purpose that we all expected the Sens to have. If I didn't know better, the Pens were down 3-1 in the series and playing as if they will never play hockey again. Amazing game and by far the best hockey game I've seen them play.

+ Evgeni Malkin: I hope I don't sound like a broken record, but this is the best hockey I've ever seen by Geno. His attention to detail in the defensive zone/neutral zone is tremendous. He's actually created plays based on his defensive zone work or his backchecking. Since Game 3, there hasn't been a better player in the playoffs. He's in full playoff mode right now. I hope he doesn't lose this level until next year. Great hockey by #71.

+ Vokoun: Timely saves and save plays. He really frustrated Ottawa's offense again. This guy refuses to give his job back. Great stuff by the vet. I'm glad he doesn't get credit from the media. It makes him have more drive to be THE guy.

+ Defense: Blocking shots, moving the puck to safety, and having extra awareness of making the safe play. Great all-around game by our defense. The best player in the group - Paul Martin. Mr. Consistent? Yeah.. ever expect that name to be given to him after last year?

+ Dan Bylsma: Chalk this one on the board and don't forget this day. Bylsma smelled blood and was ruthless in trying to win this game. Perfect example: He basically double shifted his first powerplay up 1-0 because he didn't want the Sens hanging around. It was a desperation mode to kill them before they could start building on hanging around. Tremendous coaching move there. He felt it and went with it. That is great situational coaching.

+ James Neal: You serious? Can you play that damn well all playoffs? That is ****ing insane how great #18 played. Forechecking, backchecking, scoring. All-around game.

+ Sid: Another sensational game. I'm running out of words for him. I just say "wow" more than I ever should.

+ Cooke: Great vision and great tenacity all game. Deserved a goal.

Props to everyone... Dupers, TK, Sutter, Neal. They all played so damn well. Sutter with one of his best games again of the postseason. Neal is actually back to backchecking and forechecking.

Also - huge props to Ottawa fans. They have been very classy discussing hockey on the main board with us. That was a very relaxing round of good hockey talk instead of ******** bickering. Thank you Sens fans.

If I'm a Sens Fan, I would blame all of it on Alfredsson.

Seriously, let's get ready for Boston.

+ TV scrambling at the death when we have a 4 goal lead.

This is the best we've looked all playoffs.

I don't know how he only had 1 point tonight. He's been so dominant you'd think he'd be putting up 2+ points per game right now.

Easily the Pens unsung hero so far. Only 3 points in 11 games, but he's still had a significant impact by playing hard and responsible hockey.

Nealer played an amazing game; good on him for getting his hatty.
I love Matt Cooke.
Letang was on fire early but made a couple mistakes later on.

I wonder if Sid loses the lower face shield and just goes normal visor for the next round...

I agree on Letang. If he would just think a little bit more at times, he could easily be a Norris finalist every season. He just loses his mind from time to time and I'm not sure why.

It was amazing to see this team actually break their opponent.

Hoping Kunitz gets some time to rest up whatever's bothering him.

Workmanlike and good news on injury front. Good to see Neal and Malkin back in good form.

The shear scoring ability of this team is downright scary. That was the best defensive team in the east. Boston has a slightly better offense, but not really anything fearful at all. We left a ton of goals on the ice and still have a ton of blowouts.... this is weird

The last Neal goal was nasty. Dirty, dirty move to go around Karlsson.
