Zatkoff won't have "pulled a Fleury" unless he sucks in the playoffs through 2016.

I don't think it's a huge worry concerning Zatkoff's playoff failures since it's unlikely he'll ever go into the playoffs as a starter for a Cup contender like the Pens. If he becomes a solid back-up or a guy capable of handling 30 games a year, I'd be more than happy. He's basically a free-talent find and any decent contribution he makes to the NHL team is a bonus.

Listening to game on radio stream, Pens on pp with a couple of minutes left in the 3rd.

Kolarik-Smith-Gibbons
Dumoulin-Mormina
on pp now.

Still 1-1, heading to OT. Wish AHL keep TOI stats because it always sounds like Dumoulin is playing a ton whenever I listen.

Welp, 30 seconds into OT, Providence scores off an Alex Grant turnover. WBS now down 3-0. Sounds like he had a soft clear attempt around the boards picked off.

Normally around this time I'd wonder who'd be a black ace candidate from WBS, but since we've got 8 guys or so up who aren't playing, I wouldn't imagine there'd be many, if any.

I'd guess one or both of the goalies and Dumoulin are the only locks.

I probably agree, although I would add Reese to that list, but I'm not sure if he's injured (given he didn't play tonight).

I also think it's possible that the Pens would bring Samuelsson (since they seem to like him, and he's had a good year), and possibly Harrington/Maatta/Pouliot. Especially the case with Harrington.

I say that about Harrington and possibly the other two because it would have been great for them to join the WBS Pens for their playoff run when the Mem Cup ends, but if the WBS Pens are eliminated, but Pittsburgh isn't, it could be a great experience for these young kids. I guess we'll see.

Baby Pens avoid the sweep, beating Providence 3-1 in Game 4 at home. Captain Mormina with 3 assists, Thiessen had 31 saves.

Game 5 tomorrow also at WBS since the AHL uses a 2-3-2 format.

Good to see that they managed to stave of elimination but I think it'll just be a one game thing. Would love to see them take the next game but don't see that.

1-0 Wilkes Barre. Goal by Dumoulin, assisted by Gibbons and Mormina.

I'm surprised Providence is dressing Bobby Robbins, he's a loose cannon.

Not in an agitator kind of way, but in the randomly board someone for no reason kind of way.

4-0 Baby Pens now. Sounds like Providence is dirtying it up like hell now. Veteran Graham Mink got a match penalty for deliberatly hitting Brad Thiessen (!) in the head, then some guys started fighting Kolarik and Smith.

Mink actually jumped on top of Thiessen and started punching him in the head.

Also, I'm not sure who it was, but Reid McNeill pulled someone out of the pile and just beat the tar out of them.

Yeah I only got the audio stream. You have to take anything Gracie says with a pile of salt but it sounded like Providence was gooning it up like there's no tomorrow.

Anyway, Thiessen with 30 saves for his 3rd career AHL playoff shutout. Dumoulin with 1 goal and 2 assists, his first points in the series.

Yeah, he actually didn't exaggerate this one. I have no idea what Mink was doing there.

Grace is losing his mind, he wants MacIntyre in, he wants the Pens to attack Svedberg.

Good on the lads to show some character when down in a hole. Would be interesting and impressive if they can build on it further, but tough to ask for obviously.

After the Pens 4th goal, Svedberg hacked Thompson's legs out from under him.

I don't know what the Bruins were thinking in this game.

Grace was saying he hoped Svedberg didn't wrinkle his skirt hiding behind the linesman.

Was that before or after he said that Mink puts "the last three letters into the word 'class'"?

Apparently Uncle Gary's meddling hand reaches all the way down to the AHL.

I'd like to believe that the Bruins fans complaining only had the audio feed, because Providence's announcer is a massive homer on par with Tom Grace, because the calls they're complaining about were about as black and white as it gets.

Then again, this is HF.
