What holes? Benn replaces Krejci and Bourque replaces Marchand. Knight has yet to play a game and Bartkowski can't/won't gain a spot on THE BRUINS D for a long while, if ever.

To clear things up, the original proposal was Krejci, Marchand, Knight and Bartkowski. If the stars want a pick, it would have to be a mid-round 2014 pick and Knight would have to be subtracted.

FWIW, I would also do the other BRUINS deal, Krejci, Spooner, and a 2014 pick.

A line of Eriksson-Krejci-Ryder/Jagr would be so nasty. Krejci had some of his best years centering Ryder and I believe played with Jarg in some world tournaments.
I would do,

Krejci+Knight+Florek/Ferlin+1st

I wouldn't be willing to part with Marchand+Krejci because the difference between Krejci and Benn isn't Marchand, Knight, Bart and i really like Spooner. Anyways. this is probably just speculation as he will most likely resign with Dallas.

I realize that he is a fan fav but,IMO, Marchand can be replaced very easy. Also, if I'm giving up a 1st it wouldn't be this year. And with what is going the other way, it sure wouldn't be a 1st,

I like Benn but he is not a bonafide superstar his value is close to Bobby ryan's value but the stars aren't trading him they choose to keep him instead of Neal for a reason.

Really good analysis, you must be a scout for the blue jackets.

He's still young and improving, and let's be honest Dallas ain't exactly an offensive juggernaut. Although they got some nice pieces in Eriksson, Benn, Goligoski etc.

Point totals isn't everything. Benn is a physical player.

Btw it's kinda hard to take someone called Bieber Fever serious on a hockeysite, just sayin'...

Stepan + 1st '14 + Hagelin/Kreider for Benn.

Good deal?

I doubt that Stars would want a d-man as the main piece going back if they trade Benn. They need someone to go back that can put up similar point totals.

Good start, I'd really think about this one. Still losing size down the middle but it's not as bad, especially if we get Kreider too.

The issue for Dallas is financial

Benn is the franchise player for them

keep that in mind when making your "offers"

IF Benn were to actually be available because of these contractual issues, and the Rangers offer Hagelin, Kreider and a 1st that is an excellent deal. You take that deal for sure!

And even from the Rangers' point of view, that might be what it takes to get Benn but it could be an excellent move for them.

Certainly a fair deal.

Would not trade Kreider if I was the Rangers' GM. You don't know what this kid might become.. Benn has a high value and is a nice player overall, but I'd rather trade Stepan than Kreider at this point.

Do you not remember there's a new owner in Dallas who paid big bucks for Jagr? There is absolutely no "financial issue" with the Stars.

You think any of those guys can do what Marchand does? Or am I missing something?

I'd like to see Spooner play one game in the NHL before I put him anywhere near Marchand. The other guys, not a chance.

Bourque can step right in apparently and pot 20 goals easy. I mean thats why we traded him for Hamill the Waiver sloth.

Hfboards. Where the trade proposals will never get done because the players are untouchables. Seriously would love to see one thread go without someone saying "We can't trade him because he's a key player going forward. Unless you give us 2 firsts and a second"

Something around Stepan, 1st rounder and picks/prospects?
Stepan + Kreider is what it would take at minimum.

Edit* didn't see that had already been posted. Guess Im late to the party.

Never said that. I said that Marchand is the easiest to replace. FWIW, I am satisfied with the team the way it is but to get a player like Benn, who, IMO, is a BRUIN type of player, your going to have to overpay. I think the return would be worth it. Our left side is where we are deepest organization wise.

I have played against Jamie Benn before , and since he plays in Dallas, most people don't know how good he is. The guy WILL be a star if he isn't already. He can play Left wing or center, plays strong, is great playmaker and one of the most accurate shooters in the league, as he proved in last years All Star game. He is gonna cost a lot, trust me. Joey Nieu ain't gonna just give him away. If Toronto wants him, which I have heard they have looked into, it ain't gonna be no Mac+Biggs+Gunnarsson.

If there is a deal to be made with Toronto think more along the lines of

1. Mikhail Grabovski (Who Nieuwendyk really loves from his time on Toronto Staff)
2. Nazem Kadri OR Matt Frattin
3. Cody Franson OR 2013 2nd round pick

This is the kind of deal I think it would take to bring Benn to Toronto.

*Center is where we are deepest. Our wings are a bit on the lighter side.

Krejci,Bergeron,Seguin,Marchand,Kelly,Peverley,Cam bell were all drafted as Centremen.

Prospects
Spooner, Koko, Sauve,Camper, Knight were also drafted as Centremen.

Lucic,Horton,Paille, Thornton are wingers. As is Cunningham
