Because the entirety of the NHL playoffs in the U.S. are now broadcast via NBC's networks, all subscriptions for Center Ice and GameCenter Live will include just the regular season.
guys check out hockeystreams dot com website.. look at their comparison..
it says...
frames per second for hockeystreams is up to 60fps. and NHLCI LIVE is max 24fps...
Can someone who has used both services comment on this pls?
The terms "up to" and "max" are pretty deceptive. Also, there's virtually no benefit of having 60 FPS instead of 24'ish, and in most cases, it's just a waste of bandwidth that would be better served increasing the resolution or quality.
Having said that, I'll probably go with hockeystreams for this season (never tried it before), I found the GameCenter blackouts, and the 24-48 hour archiving delay extremely annoying last time I had it.

I subscribed to game centre last year being based in the UK and unable to fly for medical reasons seeing a game live is not realistic for me right now (previously seen about 60x games at the ACC).
It is totally worth it - you get every game and choice of feeds if you want to listen to pro-Leaf or pro-opposition commentary, you also get more on screen time of presenters than via network, example: Ray Ferraro Dion impression was broadcast via GCL.
You also get NHL vault access to previous seasons going back a several years and access to classic games which will be either great Leaf's games or us on the end of a beating, games include original six in this option.
You can also search via teams/favourite players so if you want to relive Wendel and Doug's great moments you can. Winter classic's are all there, as are the European games.
There is also game chat for you to connect with other fans if you chose to do so via an IM service
Warning - Samsung app for me in UK is a nightmare to stream the game from my PC to TV rarely hand shakes and drops service half way through a game, and I had to set my Blu Ray to U.S. region to get it to work. I cannot vouch for other apps as I now just watch the games via my PC making the TV a monitor.
Give it a try if there is a trial. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Is there a preview for live action this weekend? I'm 90% sure I'd be ok with this but with Bell being the same price I want to make sure the quality of the feed is adequate.
I've used unblockus for a couple years now, first for Netflix and last year I dropped Extra Innings and went to mlb.tv. Worked flawlessly. Was great being able to watch Jays games on my deck in the summer on my ipad. My understanding of the way it works is it only spoofs your IP for the authentication part of the process. After that you are connected directly to the source.
no,thats actually not what happens. When you do a DNS request, you are basically requesting the IP address of the server that you are requesting using a name. Example, I type www.nhl.com, the network fires off a DNS request, the DNS returns the IP address of nhl.com, my computer then connects to the IP address and requests the HTML page.
With Unblock-US, when you request Netflix.com, they return the IP of their own server, which they use to tunnel Netflix traffic from Netflix down to you. Since their server is U.S based, you get U.S Netflix,hulu,gamecenter,etc...
In other words, Unblock-US works the same as a proxy server, its just easier to configure than a proxy server.
But, Unblock-US has great service. Their servers are top notch, and that's why the experience is amazing.
Question: can i purchase gamecenter via itunes? Because walmart has itunes cards on sale at walmart until tomorrow?
Thanks
well,i checked the iTunes site, and the app is free, but they offer an in app purchase to go from free to live upgrade for $49.99. Since in app purchases are done through iTunes, I would take a guess that yes it is possible.
if you have your idevice just download the free app and check yourself if its available as in app purchase for this price.

Just to add to this..
It is not only U.S/CAN netflix, you can get now with unblock-us but you can choose, with a simple click of a button, if you want your connection to appear from Sweden/Finland,UK,Ireland, etc etc..
Anyone else have trouble loading gamecenter on chrome browser? I can't get it to work even after disabling all ******* and so on. The page won't load the videos (last season playoff). But in firefox it loads perfectly.
Thank u for replying! Its not me. I am able to watch games from last year though. Atv looks not so good for navigating. I will probably use my xbox. Much quicker navigation and seems alot more to their app.
