Notice how Mike doesn't cut off Lou to ask another question like he does to other guests....
Respect, yo.
Well even more than that, MF knows he is clueless on hockey, so he just asks a couple of general questions and gets out of the way - and this interview he basically asked the same question seven different ways. At least this time he didn't ask Lou multiple questions on the Rangers the way he did in one of his interviews last year.
The DeBoer interview on the show before Francesa's was much better, the hosts actually knew what specific questions to ask cause they are hockey fans (though not Devils fans).
If he ever cut Lou off, Lou would cut his fingers off
LOL ... I can imagine that!
Lou would just smirk at Francesa & say, "Excuse me, I have to make a quick phone call." Lou leaves the room, comes back & finishes the interview with Francesa, who doesn't give it a second thought.
Then, after his show ends, Francesa leaves the building & as he walking through midtown, a black van pulls with no windows & Rob Skrlac & Sasha Lakovic jump out & pull him up in a van. Skrlac says to him, "So...we hear you like to interrupt Lou, huh?!? Then they proceed to break his fingers.
Didn't click on the link above but saw it on YES when Lou was on live this afternoon. Interview wasn't bad. Glad Mike is very respectful to Lou, despite knowing (and admittedly so) nothing about the sport. I face palmed when right after Lou hung up and Francesa called him "Lou Lamoriello the head coach of the New Jersey Devils."
The real entertainment was within 5 minutes when a Rangers fan called in and tried to say the Devils are so overrated going into every single season. Guess that guy couldn't read when everyone says the Devils are finishing 14th every year? Francesa dealt with it well though. He basically yelled at the guy saying you can't bash the Devils for their on-ice results because Lou has been absolutely brilliant with the team, especially since he has far less resources than other teams do.

That still makes no sense since that sounds like Mike is implying that their on-ice results weren't up to par when that wasn't the case last year....obviously.
Whatever. If I wanted to listen to someone's Hockey Opinion, I'd listen to Steve-O, Chico, Dano, Deb-O, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, and anyone else that isn't Mike Francessa......

he's saying exactly the opposite of that. he's saying that you can't call the devils overrated because their on-ice results are too good.

Fixed bub.
Wait did he really call Lou the "Head coach of the New Jersey Devils" Unreal. I have no idea why people listen to him. Baseball talk? Oh joy.
I'm so glad I get Philly radio by me. New York sports radio is unbearable. All day today nothing but that kid from ND, then their 20/20 blurbs or whatever.
It sucks to hear them talk about the Flyers, but the Philly people all know their hockey and are always into, and they all hate us - it's great Granted the past 2 days have been nothing but Chip Kelly but every show on both WIP and EPN, they stop at one point and say, "Oh yeah that's right - HOCKEYS BACK! YES!!!' and do a good segment on it.
The one station is actually running a contest giving away Flyers Season tickets that ends tomorrow. I wonder if any NY station has ever even given away a pair of hockey tickets period.

Nope. Only Tickets WFAN ever gives away are NFL, MLB, or NBA tickets.

Nice to see the team getting respect, even if it's from someone who doesn't know much. Results speak for themselves. That's always been Lou's philosophy and it works.

They've done Devils giveaways before, but it's usually a pain in the ass. I remember once for the playoffs, they required people to submit 200 words describing why they deserved the tickets.
As opposed to the Nets, Mets, and Giants, who they regularly give tickets for. (And the Yankees, even though they're not even the home of the Yankees...)
