Finley played a little against the ISLANDERS. He looked very slow and lacked hockey sense. Reminds me of Ty Wishart another first round bust. He is huge but offers little else. Joe Finley is a liability in every way possible and its amazingg that he even has an NHL job.

He's another body at NHL camp. He's either going to be a 7th defenseman or he'll get sent down to Bridgeport. I'd expect him to get claimed by Buffalo if sent down because he was one of the few reliable defensman Rochester had.

i guess i wasnt the only one thinking it. chara was a huge kid that struggled initially, nobody ever thought he'd be anything. Not out of the realm of possibility, but very unlikely. that would be a miracle

Chara has way more agility.

Finley MUST have some talent. You don't just waste your first round pick on a guy the size of a Mack truck! What is he GOOD at? All I can tell from his stats is that he's a + in the +- category....that tells me he doesn't get skated around too often.

Why are you holding out on us man? You were at the practice, you should post your extended thoughts on things dude. I'm disappointed with you.

Ask and you shall recieve...

Johnny and Streit really stood out too me, I think it showed they have been playing pro hockey during the lockout....

Aslo Carkner looked good too me as well. His one-on-one battle drills were really impressive he even went against Johnny and kept him on the ropes...

Casey Cizikas has a crazy motor and the kid is always smiling and is 100% heart and Hustle...

Matt Martin was another guy with a ton of energy and pushing really hard.He was paired with Reasoner and Boulton but they were not on par with him imo.

Rookies

Strome-Great hands and stick handling looked solid but if you were to but a gun to my head I would guess that he wont be here past the 5 game rookie tryout. He didnt look bad but he didnt look better than Okposo,Cizikas, and Ulstrom. But thats to be expected as these guys are all pros already.

Reinhart- comes as advertized. Big, smooth, and simple. Did not stand out but was calm and not overmatched physically. I think he may have a shot next year.

Goalies

Nabby- I wish we had this guy for the last 10 years...He looked sharp, I cant believe that he is 37, he really must have been working out hard during the lockout.

Rickey- Some young punks were giving Rickey a hard time. He actually moved well and looked solid. I guess the biggest thing for him was that he was able practice the whole time and skate off at the end on his own.

Nabby should be the starter and with a condensed schedual Rick could get a few starts here and there.

side note----Martin,Strome,Cizikas, and Ulstrom stayed on the ice for about 15 min after practice playing around. These kids are having fun and it was cool to see them in that light.

Also Cappy looks like he lost about 35 pounds.

Sorry I didnt offer more but with no numbers on the backs it was hard to keep track of everyone..

All the dman were wearing the same dark blue jerseys so It was hard for me to keep an eye on Landry for all the drills but there were 2 times I noticed him and imo-

I thought because of his size(he looks big out there) I was expecting a bruiser but he looks pretty good offensivley. They were doing a breakout drill and the one time I noticed him he made an excellent breakout pass and when the rush got to the offensive zone they the drill was to turn back and get back on D, He stopped and turned well and got back on defense and defended the rush pretty well...I think he would be a solid bottom pairing guy. Because of the Waiver rule I feel that Hickey and Finley will be the number 6th and 7th dman with Hickey getting most of the starts. I also think becasue he has been playing in Bport he might be a bit more crisp than some of the others not playing in real games....

I think you are refering to Colin Mcdonald, He was wearing orange along with Strome,Cizikas, and Ulstrom. When the orange was out I was more focused on Strome and Cizikas but Because CMAC is a RHS like Strome a few times I caught him...He really did not stand out to me but I have to admit he was not really on my "Radar"

Sorry I could not be of more help....
