Especially considering Vandermeer's contract is a 2-way. Great job by MG!

This signing and the Barker signing seem like moves made in anticipation of a lot groin injuries.

See now THIS is a good signing. As much as I disliked the Barker one I like this one.

Good no-risk signing by the Nucks. Vandemeer can be used sparingly as a 5-6 if need be.

This is a good signing by the Canucks, I liked him when he was with the Oilers. Barker however...

I think he's just acquiring assets. Good move. I would suggest thought that Ballard is never going to have a higher value on the trade market than right now. There are quite a few desperate teams out there and I can see second rounders getting thrown at us or possibly a 3C. Might be wise to take the opportunity to avoid a buyout next year and maybe save it for a potential cap dump that comes our way in a Luongo deal. I am OK with either outcome.

I like this move. Never understood why the Oilers never hung onto this guy. He wasn't a bad depth player at all and he is tough.

As much as it has become a joke over on the Sharks boards, Vandermeer did a decent job as a forward (albeit on the 4th line) when he was here. A guy that you can have as the extra player on a road trip that can fill in regardless of who gets injured (especially in a shortened season) has some value. I think this is a good signing for the Canucks.

Vancouver needed a player that could play a tough man's role if needed, they finally got him. Good for them.

Good depth addition and he'll make the Canucks a harder to play against club.
