There's lots more, including one of him smoking Shea Weber of all people. He doesn't pick his spots. And I couldn't care less if he's a bit late with the hits, to be honest. We haven't had a guy like this for a long time. Sutton was okay, but way past his expiry date. This guy will help out more that we think.

Moe Lemay traded by Vancouver for Raimo Summanen.
Stu Kulak traded by Vancouver for cash.
Ken Berry traded by Vancouver with Garry Lariviere for Blair MacDonald and Lars-Gunner Petersson.

Probably not big ones, but they have made 7.

While Calgary has only traded with us once.
Where did you happen upon this information? Just curious...was trying to locate that info as well.

I guess they'd chalk that up to goaltending.

I don't know, Dallas is one of those teams I don't care about so I know little about their players and such.

As many have said on here...NOW is the time to start to move forward with meaningful trades that will help rather than the previous non-hurtful filler contracts we had the prior 3 years while we built. This must be one hell of a trade for you to put your stamp of approval on it. Let's give Tambo a chance to work this lineup now and see what he can do. He's never been in this position before, so it's tough to say how he'll do. But so far, so good. I think he fleeced Dallas somewhat, given what I though Fistric might have cost. But more than that, Fistric is exactly a piece that this team needs.

I'm looking forward to Mister Fister crushing unwary souls who try to enter our zone.

Now......trade Gagner plus for Ryan O'Reilly and get Ben Bishop out of Ottawa and we're on our way.

Not really. Most posters thought the Oilers did well, it was only a select few Stars fans and the usual trolls that were critical of the deal.

Just as importantly, souls whose names aren't Hall, Eberle, RNH and Yakupov.

When you trade a 3rd rouder for a guy who 26 and plays the way that very few in your lineup do, does it really matter what happens with Fistric? He could be a complete and utter bust for us, but it's worth the shot.

Not like we gave a 3rd for Thomas Hickey.

this guy plays like the thing the oilers were missing for the last 4 years... this is a piece to the puzzle to being tougher to play against. huge move in the right direction.. more to come with the fedun call up.

i just can't see how you lose this trade.... even if he doesn't play very good at all, and we don't make the playoffs, you could very likely get a 4th rounder for him at the trade deadline still

a 3rd isn't much to give up at all, especially when you consider we have an extra 2nd that year and where we are in the rebuild.... now is the time to start cashing in some of the mid round picks for actual NHL players

Yeah wow I'm completely and utterly shocked by this trade.

The Tambo Troll remains strong. Absolutely perfect trade for the Oilers and finally a legitimate replacement on the back end since we lost Matt Greene.

I'm sure the fact that he is a UFA after this year was a good part of the reason this deal looks so good. Secondly, let's hope this is the first of a few trades that makes this team bigger, stronger and tougher. My biggest concern going into this year is having so many skilled players with so little toughness to back them up ... without Sutton, this could of been a scary year.

Now let's see what other big bodies are out there.

Didn't you know that anybody who gets ends up in Vancouver is instantly a superstar??? Maybe the Sedin's can help him with his puck handling skills.

Question though, are we going to resign him after this year? His deal expires after this season.

On an unrelated note, does Klefbom replace Whitney next year?

Smid Petry
Schultz Shultz
Klefbom Fistric

thoughts?

Both your questions are TBD IMO. There is no rush to re-sign Fistric just yet and there is no rush to rid ourselves of Whitney.

This. It would seem Fedun got the call up yesterday, and I read Peckham didn't even do the physical tests he just showed up and said "yeah I'm injured". So Fedun call up yesterday, Fistric trade today, and then they keep Fedun as a courtesy but now they have 9.
