How about a potential St. Louis / Phoenix playoff matchup though? Tip vs. Hitch
Lot of people think that'll be boring hockey. I'd be totally down for a series like that. Would be some great defensive/intense hockey.

That'd probably be as exciting as Nashville-Detroit or Philly-Pittsburgh.
These 4-5 matchups are going to be insane this year. Can't wait.

I'm getting excited about it right now. Well, sort of. So much trap it's fun? I'm not sure if it works that way.
Mainly I just want to see Smith have a meltdown in the playoffs. Not a Luongo give-up-a-ton-of-goals style meltdown... just one where he attacks someone. Maybe even Arnott!

Oh, there shall be a Playoffs thread... the Stars presence is not required.

That series would be wonderful because it would ensure playoff hockey is on every night till AT LEAST 3 AM.

I don't think Phoenix matches up well with St Louis. I think the series would last maybe five games at the most, unless the Blues play terrible.

Couldn't that be said about anything? I think the Stars will win the cup next year, unless they play terrible

I wouldn't go so far as to say that they don't match up well. Even if it only went five games I imagine they would all be one goal games with 2-4 OT games. These two teams play a style conducive to close games regardless of how long the series goes. It's the closest thing to pre-lockout playoffs we will have seen in ages.

St. Louis is just scary when you think about how good they are with most of their guys still only getting better.

I just wanted to post my favorite Wings against Stars goal. Hopefully it would encourage some people here to turn this place into a Red Wings subforum. Maybe we could talk about line combinations here.

I hate the Red Wings, the less posts about them here the better.

There's a reason they have their own board.
