He is going to trip over the blueline and get a bloody nose. On the way to the bench as he steps in e pulls his groin. Trainer throws a towel at him to wipe up his nose and he will break his finger. Then as he wipes his face with the towel he will miss and poke himself in the eye. As he is walking to the dressing room to get changed since his night is done he will twist his ankle. While getting showered he will get water in his ear and get an ear infection. As he walks back out due to have a sore eye he will walk into a door and stub his toe. As he screams out a profanity in frustration he will pull his vocal cords.
We may not be a tough team but I'm pretty sure we can still handle Mr. Armstrong. Guy lost his physical edge YEARS ago. There was a time where it seemed like every hit he threw ended with a stretcher on the ice.
Armdog was one of those guys that energized the team. The Leafs' record with him on the bench compared to when he was absent/injured was significantly better.
He isn't one of those guys that lights up the stat sheet but he is great at keeping everyone on the bench focused and fighting hard.
I think management felt that just wasn't enough. However, I like that they bought out his contract. He was going to be UFA this summer, and the buyout meant thathe stays on the books another year. Guaranteed he had income during the lockout in case he didn't find a team.
Habs saw something in him though. Ah well.
Hope he has a few more good years, and hope he doesn't hurt our team along the way. Best of luck!
