Even if Seguin, is a little better at scoring (which I dont believe he is), Hall makes up with his intangibles. His leadership is off the charts, and the Oilers record reflects that they play better with him in the lockeroom.
I think Hall is a little better, but he is a band aid boy, so I take Seguin easily. There are just some players that are always injured and he seems to be one of them so far. Some people still like Markov too!

Hmmm, pretty close.

Hall<Seguin
Yakupov>Galchenyuk

I say Hall and Yakupov are better by a slight margin.

Seguin and Galchenyuk, two natural centers is tough to bet against.

I take Seguin/Gally. Anyone who has seen Seguin play can comprehend hes going to be a #1 center in this league.

Even if he sticks to wing, XXX-Gally-Seguin is better than Hall-XXX-Yakupov tho IMO.

Obviously extremely close tho, and will absolutely never happen.

lol, hf boards do get a little funny sometimes. Hall - Yakupov > Seguin - Galchenyuk.

I don't think many of you guys have actually played hockey if you think being a center automatically makes you more valuable than a winger.

The reason the best players in the NHL are centers is because that's the position the best players tend to play growing up. Certain players, however, such as Hall and Yakupov, have fantastic speed and acceleration which can often be utilized better from a winger position.

I have yet to see a logical argument for why Seguin > Hall. Seguin has been ahead of all for all of a couple months in their sophomore seasons.

Fun read indeed. Probably some non-Oiler fan will re-open this thread in a couple years from now.

Go figure. Oilers fans post in threads about their players. Quelle surprise. Look at all the Habs fans voting as well. Amazing.

It is funny that you consider the polls a “win” or “lose” scenario, as opposed to actual opinions on a comparison. In this case, no wonder the Oilers are “losing”. Its Habs and B’s fans vs Oilers fans. How can we “compete” with that?

Who cares? When the rest of HF thought Hall was a bad pick, we knew the talent he had. His "breakout" this year wasn't a surprise at all to most Oiler fans. It wasn't just blind homerism - most Oiler fans knew that Eberle was overrated on HF due to his stats last season and predicted a drop.

You'll all see with Yakupov too.

He probably won't, he's a homer

Should be a close poll.

galchenyuk-seguin if one becomes a center. but both of them arent capable of playing center in NHL yet so untill then the oilers duo.

I love the insecurity in this thread. Don't pick Hall-Yakupov and cue the insults. It can't possibly be some people (a majority according to the poll) have a different opinion. Nope, clearly bias or hating on Edmonton.

A large portion of people would take Nickelback over say, Bob Dylan.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't mock their opinion.

It's hard not to defend something so irrational. This poll is pretty funny..

I don't get it - Oilers fans are saying this is laughably one sided but all of these guys aren't even approaching their primes yet - they still have a few years to go.

Why are they so sure?

Before I used to think Seguin>Hall but after this season I changed my mind. It can change though. With my current assessment:

Hall>Seguin
Yakupov>Galchenyuk

So Oilers duo here.

Galchenyuk>Yakupov, but Hall>Seguin and the difference between the 2010 guys is larger.

Hall and Seguin should be the deciding factor.

Going back to last season...

Last 82 Games
Hall- 34 goals and 83 points
Seguin- 26 goals and 56 points

Until Seguin proves otherwise, these players really aren't close. It's like saying Pat Kane and O'Rielly are close because one's a center and brings a better defensive game. In the end the fact that Hall played at a 91 point pace this season while Seguin played at a 54 point pace should be the deciding factor.

I also take Yakupov over Galchenyuk. He had 8 more goals in a little over half a season. Almost double. One guy scored at a 29 goal pace while the other scored at a 15 goal pace.
