Going to play FIFA

Rejected the offer to manage Northern Ireland

I can't do it

I have unfinished business to do with Barnsley and I will not be accepting any international coaching positions at this time

Getting good reception in here today. Might UT all day if this holds up. Radio just played Tiffany's version of I Think We're Alone Now. <3

There's this quiz I give to some of our young posters when they first arrive at The Lounge. I didn't do it with the last batch; it's a little too close to home.

"How many of you," I'll ask, "can tell me anything about habsman56?" Blank stares. "How about DrTurk or Penguins23?" Not a twitch of recognition. "Donald Fehr" sometimes causes a hand or two to be raised, and Alvin Tostig may be glad to learn that a lot of young people still have a vague recollection that he once posted in the Useless Thread.

What none of these young men and women in their late teens and early 20s appreciates, until I point it out to them, is that they have just heard the names of posters or commentators who were once so famous that everyone in the Lounge knew their names.

Everybody.

Trust me, the transition from one UT chief to another is not that big a deal. And each of them did a pretty fair job in his own right. You've always been very nice to me, so give this new UT team a fair break. If you don't, I promise you HFBoards will just put another thread in this slot. Then you'll be sorry. And that's our report for tonight. I'm ixcuincle in Washington, good night.

Children behave
That's what they say when we're together
And watch how you play
They don't understand
And so we're

Running just as fast as we can
Holdin' on to one another's hand
Tryin' to get away into the night
And then you put your arms around me
And we tumble to the ground
And then you say

I think we're alone now
There doesn't seem to be anyone around

Wish I knew more about UT history. Dr Turk? Never heard of him. Hope he enjoys University or Toronto though, which I am baselessly assuming he attends.

ixcuincle died as he lived, sitting down for a long period of time with a glazed look on his eyes, undoubtedly trying to figure out what Simpsons episode his heart attack best created a reference to. Born in 1985, ixcuincle spent most of the past 28 years on the Internet before succumbing to a heart attack last week. He is survived by his parents that presumably exist, scores of Internet posters who describe him as "tolerable", and one female Wolf Blitzer fan. Good night, sweet prince.

"Hits of the 80s, 90s, and today!"

Very little indie rock and even less Proto punk.

ixcuincle, in the early days, was the most unlikely candidate to ever make it to this grandest of stages. Growing up in the sweltering heat of the slow and small town of Rockville, Maryland, ixcuincle was the oldest of ix Sr. and Ada Cuincle's 4 children. He is also the only family member to ever pursue a life of posting. Even though ixcuincle did eventually become one of The Lounge greatest posters, his story starts with The Lounge choosing him -- a quiet, reserved, young boy who was already posting 100 times a day in the seventh grade.

ixcuincle did not particularly like The Lounge at the beginning, the forum more of a nightmare and an obligation than a passion. ixcuincle used to regularly skip posting in the early days, and it was then that [REDACTED] would come to the Cuincle family home -- just a scant 6 blocks from the segregated Union High School -- looking for his wayward protégé. It was in these formative years that ixcuincle started posting under the username ixcuincle. On the day they passed out the student IDs in junior high school, it was the only one left.

Things began to change for ixcuincle with his mentor, [REDACTED], leading the way, but also with the changing times of America in the '00s. Union High School was closed down, and ixcuincle now attended the integrated Virginia Tech where his forum friend, Alvin Tostig, along with [REDACTED], witnessed a remarkable transformation. ixcuincle was now falling in love with the forum that he would later dominate.
You couldn't keep him out of The Lounge. When they finally had to shut down the forum for the day, ixcuincle would head directly for chat. Seemingly overnight the extraordinary change was complete. ixcuincle was now a "Star," an instant sensation with enormous promise.

ixcuincle made his 50,000th post less than three weeks ago. Tonight we celebrate his spirit, his humanity and his life.

ixcuincle's place in the history of the game is secure. Only four users have made more posts – GKJ, Rick Middleton, Saugus, and Devilsfanatic.

Some will say that ixcuincle was lucky; that he posted on great forums with unbelievable talent. The reality is that we were the lucky ones to be on the same forums.

As great as it is to be ixcuincle’s fellow poster, it is even better to be his friend.

What an *******,” Ixcuincle was born Park Chang-Soo in the tiny agricultural village of Seoul, South Korea (population 82.7 billion).

I’ll spare you the biography, but the life of Ixcuincle has been described by many as a ride on a roller coaster, filled with dramatic rises to the top and heart-rending descents to the very bottom. Truth be told, it was more like a water slide: one drop after another.. after another.. after another.. until he was dumped off the slide into a murky plunge pool filled with children’s feces, E. coli, and the broken dreams of his mother.

Good riddance, Ixcuincle.
Lol

Good times

Vaguely remember unbanning chat posters as a mod on 3rf

Wasn't no reason for them to be banned

http://news.yahoo.com/stolen-train-c...110546205.html

Quote:
A woman stole an empty commuter train from a depot Tuesday and drove it to a suburb of Stockholm where it derailed and slammed into an apartment building, officials said.

The woman was seriously injured in the early morning crash and was flown to a Stockholm hospital, police spokesman Lars Bystrom said. No one else was injured.

Bystrom said the woman was arrested on suspicion of endangering the public.

Tomas Hedenius, a spokesman for train operator Arriva, said the woman, born in 1990, stole the four-car train at a depot outside Stockholm.

She then drove it about a mile (1.6 kilometers) to the end station on the railway line, where it jumped off the tracks, careered for about 30 yards (25 meters) and crashed into a three-story building.

Photographs from the scene showed the crumpled front car of the train buried deep into the structure.
