Horrible. Oilers will be more than happy seeing him on the Canucks blueline.

Signed for depth. Canucks have a history of blue-line injuries. Won't be starting.

One of the most hyped 17 year old defencemen I've ever seen.

What a bust.

Many will scoff at this signing. But I have faith that we will be able to bring out some variation of his Chicago form. No risk here, and currently he slots in as our eighth defenseman. Happy with this signing.

WHY?

He won't even make the ****ing team! He's horrible! Why not sign Vandermeer, who would actually fill a role? ****.

What happened to this guy? I remember he was a touted prospect when he first entered the league.

Vancouver signed a guy who got run out of Edmonton!!!!

prediction

first ten games nuck fans will be taunting oiler fans over how bad the oilers screwed up

next 38 games Hawks, wild and oilers have a good knees up at the expense of the canucks.

He as no hockey sense and if the canucks use him and Ballard at the same time--the drinking consumption on the canuck board will reach new levels

Smart move.

No risk. All reward.

Barker is still only 26. Had 40 points in 68 games just a few seasons ago.

There is a reason he went 3rd overall in his draft. If he puts it together this could be one heck of a move. And if he doesn't well goodbye (at any time the Nucks decide).
