Spooner's showcase was about as electric as anything I've seen live in a long time. My only dismay about last night was how much the guys dominated Hershey, and still only got out of there with a one goal victory. I've seen it too many times this season to not say there's a trend, and it's the kind that will kill you in the postseason. And it also cannot be stressed enough....Colby Cohen sucks. Do not like the minutes he's been getting since Bart went up.

Last I heard Cassidy said not this weekend, but he was close and skating again.

Spooner has the most amazing skating style I have ever seen. Slippery little devil. The kid is sick.

One of Spooner's biggest obstacles when he does make it to Boston will be Cloooode.

Accountability in Julien's regime is only applicable to the young guys, and I'm guessing he's going to have a hard time up against the likes of Gregory Campbell and Danny Paille.

If they get bounced in the first round again we won't have to worry about that

Not sure where anything of young players being "ruined" was mentioned ...

Not sure where that was said, either.

My post was about accountability. If you two are going to try and bait me into an argument, at least have the sense to contest something from my actual post.

How about this?

Julien is not an "obstacle" to young players. Just the opposite. He's a damn good coach who has a solid track record of teaching kids how to play at the NHL level.

The "Clode can't coach kids" and "he doesn't like offense" memes are old, tiresome, and most importantly, devoid of merit.

They were playing him every other game or so to ease him into the lineup. i don't know if that's changed however.

Apologies to the rest of the board for (inadvertently) setting up Artemis to once again galavant around the forum in full lecture-mode waving the lady wood around like she's the end all / know all of all things hockey.

Funny how you attack me and avoid responding to my comments. Good argument. I particularly enjoyed the little sexist jab.

Lindblad having a good debut tonight ...

Going to be tough on Cassidy deciding who to play and who to sit come playoff time. Lots of extra bodies in Providence, and guys playing hungry and giving it their all.

Good to see.

Went to last night's game...as has been mentioned already, Spooner is an incredible talent and Knight had a strong game.

I have no idea why Cohen keeps getting playing time. He's an ECHL-level player, at best. And he was on the ice for both Hershey goals last night. Cassidy needs to play Cross over him for the rest of the season.

And it looks as though they will beat Springfield tonight as well.

Cohen is a guy who's really just flatlined in terms of development ... Maybe even regressed.

His contract is up after this season ... I can't see Chiarelli having any desire to keep him in the mix.

I'd be all for Cross playing the rest of the year, but I've focused on him the (few) times he's been playing lately....he really struggles with his skating and foot speed compared to most guys in this league. It's not a slam dunk as far as who is the obvious choice. Still, better than Cohen.

Nice 2-0 win over Springfield. Hutchinson had a 23 save shutout.

Providence is now 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and 4 points ahead of all 29 teams in the AHL.

They have clinched first place in the Atlantic and a playoff spot.

Solid game all around. Nobody really stood out, in a great way, because they all just played solid two zone hockey

Actually hutch was better than I expected

Should be a nice post season
